Lightning Crashes!
In a night to remember, lightning crashed so loud overhead that it sent players and fans scrambling for cover! Kudos to the referees for waiting almost an hour to allow play to resume, but they had to call it a game in the third quarter with the Panthers trailing 9-6. No one likes an incomplete game, but it was obviously the right thing to do. RB Jason Loosemore scored for the Panthers on a one yard TD plunge. The convert was missed and the Stallions came right back with a TD of their own to take the lead 7-6. The Panthers then gave up a safety and began the race against the elements to get back on the scoreboard, just missing a 42 yd field goal attempt before the game was halted. Unsatisfying would be the best word to describe the outcome on this memorable night. Up next for the Parkland squad is a match up in Red Deer next Saturday, July 25th at Great Chief Park. Kick off is at 6:00pm.
