Tuesday, October 13 CHEER COMPETITION CHEERLEADING COMPETITION "SPIRIT EXPLOSION 2009" WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH AT EISENHOWER HIGH SCHOOL - 12700 SACRAMENTO AVENUE IN BLUE ISLAND. (127TH & KEDZIE) RIGHT NOW ALL GIRLS ARE ON A MANDATORY PRACTICE SCHEDULE. WE ARE LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY AND EVERY PRACTICE COUNTS. IF YOU DO NOT SHOW UP FOR PRACTICES, YOU RUN THE RISK OF BEING PULLED FROM YOUR COMPETITION SPOT. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE OTHER GIRLS WHO HAVE BEEN COMING TO EVERY PRACTICE, SO PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE THERE EVERY TIME. ROUTINES ARE BEING FINALIZED NOW!! IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE A PRACTICE, PLEASE CALL YOUR COACH. Thursday, January 3 Cheerleader - Rules and Regulations As a cheerleader, you are representing Palos Lightning Youth Football and Cheerleading Association and are expected to act as a leader both on the field and off the field. The following rules must be followed: 1. Cheerleaders are expected to attend all practices and all of the games. 2. Cheerleaders should wear their full uniforms when they cheer that day’s game. 3. Cheerleaders should not wear jewelry (e.g. watches, earrings, or necklaces) during games or practices. 4. Cheerleaders with long hair should pull their hair back away from their necks and faces during games and practices 5. Cheerleaders should dress appropriately for practices (i.e. wear sweats or shorts, T-shirts, and gym shoes). 6. Cheerleaders should never build mounts or do stunts without the presence and permission of a coach. 7. Cheerleaders should be prompt for all practices. 8. On game days, cheerleaders should be at the field one (1) hour prior to game time. 9. Cheerleaders must cheer the entire game; they may not leave a game early. 10. Cheerleaders must let their coach know if they are going to be absent as soon as they know they will be absent. 11. If a cheerleader misses the practice before a game, she may not perform the halftime routine at the game. 12. Cheerleaders should listen to and follow the directions of their coaches at all times.
