Using things such as a bathroom plunger, a plastic milk container and a cinder block, coach Schupak goes through some basic drills a child age four or five can do. He also shows alternatives for baseball training props such as a "do it yourself" tarp made for under twenty dollars which does the same job as a two hundred dollar net.! The DVD also contains some advanced drills kids ages eight to fourteen can do. This is a true baseball lovers delight that parents will use continually as a resource.

The 59 Minute Baseball Practice DVD
59 Minute Baseball Practice
During more than a decade of coaching youth baseball teams, Marty Shupak realized that he kept seeing coaches and teams put hour after hour into practices that became so repetitive that they served only to bore the Little Leaguers forced to endure them. He sought to remedy the problem by devising practice routines that can take less than an hour, and which consist of drills that the kids will not only find fun and interesting, but will help them consistently develop their baseball skills. In this video, Shupak and a band of Little Leaguers demonstrate more than 30 different drills that can be used on the practice field with an entire team as well as by parents and children in a backyard session. The drills focus on basics such as base running, hitting, and fielding, but they often provide a wrinkle designed to keep the kids enthused, such as a defensive drill in which fielders practice throwing from third to first while in a kneeling position, or hitting drills in which a very soft ball made of old rags and masking tape is used. This video is not flashy yet the camera work is very professional, and the practical advice is imparted in an engaging manner.

Little League Drills and Strategies : Imaginative Practice Drills to Improve Skills and Attitude
Little League Drills & Strategies

When signing his eldest son up for Little League baseball, Ned McIntosh was told he'd have to find a coach if he wanted his son to play. So McIntosh stepped up to the plate and, with little guidance, began coaching. That's probably how most people become Little League coaches, and they often feel at a complete loss as to where to start. Written by a father/coach for other parent/coaches, Little League Drills and Strategies teaches coaches how to help their players enjoy the game--as well as develop the skills they need to win. Well-illustrated drills focus on the essentials--batting, base running, fielding, etc.--while other chapters teach novice coaches how to deal with competition and overbearing parents. An excellent resource for coaching neophytes as well as seasoned managers.

With fully updated drills and strategies, this bestselling guide is built around three simple rules for Little League success: drilling the basics; the keep it simple/make it fun philosophy; and practice, practice, practice.
