OPEN 2010 BOARD POSITIONS

Dear Orland Knight Families,

As the 2009 season winds down, with one level still in the running for a playoff spot, we look forward to the end of the year banquet and preparations for next season. In looking forward, we will have some vacancies on the board for 2010 as the terms of several officers come to an end.

Board members are asked to serve for two years with the terms starting in January. Elections are held in December. If you are interested in offering your talents and time to a great organization please send a letter letting us know you are interested in the available positions. Those positions are:

Treasurer
Publicity Director
Secretary
Commissioner
DOR – Designated Organization Representative
Merchandise Coordinator

The success of the Knights relies on the efforts of all our families and board volunteers. If you are interested please contact any current board member or send us an e-mail at orlandknights@gmail.com.

We hope you will consider joining us in keeping the Knights an organization that promotes a great learning experience for our children and lifetime of memories and relationships for all involved.

Sincerely,

Jaimie Marines, President

FUNDRAISING  UPDATE

The last fundraising event of the year is our equipment raffle.  All families were given a book of 5 $20 tickets to sell at registration.  Very few of these stubs have been turned in with the corresponding dollars.  We know many families have given much throughout the year to the organization and this raffle is away to spread the needed fundraising to others outside of the organization - neighborhood, friends, and work.

This year we purchased new poms for the cheerleaders, both the widget and junior level football players had new shoulder pads, and 65 helmets need to be reconditioned this off-season, among other expenses related solely to keeping the kids in fresh and safe equipment.  This also allows us to keep registration at a reasonable level even as field usage fees and other expenses continue to rise.

Who knows - maybe you'll be the winner?  The amount won depends on the number of tickets sold.  Please turn in any tickets and cash to any one of our board members.

Please help us in this worthwhile endeavor.  If you need more tickets to sell you may contact Tracy Mc Hale at 709-906-7345 or Jaimie Marines at 708-267-8223.

See everyone at the Banquet!

DATE CHANGE

Just an FYI the Orange flier that listed all the year's events had incorrect dates for the Equipment Hand In.  Equipment Hand In will take place on Wednesday, November 11th and Tuesday, November 17th at the Franklin Loebe Center 7-8:30pm Room 109
