Orillia Youth Basketball Association: Interested in Volunteering?

Interested in volunteering for the Orillia Lakers ?
Do you love basketball and just want to help out? Do you love the sound of basketballs bouncing on a gym floor, the cool swish as they goes through the basket, the roar of the crowd as the home team moves ahead of the other team? Are you a high school student who needs their community service hours and want to find a cool way to do it?

If you answered yes to one of those questions, then perhaps you are the next volunteer we have been looking for!

The Orillia Youth Basketball Association is a non-profit organization that is run totally by volunteers - the team coaches and managers, the board members, and the many parents who help out their kids and their kids' teams. We are always looking for more people to help out, in any capacity. Here are some ways you can help out the HouseLeague Lakers teams or the Orillia Lakers rep teams:

  • volunteer to help coach a House League team
  • scorekeep or be a timer for a Lakers game
  • help run a concession stand during a tournament or mini-tournament
  • be a helper for the upcoming Girls Tournament or Boys Tournament
  • help the organizers of 2Ball night
  • volunteer to do whatever it is you do best ... or whatever is needed most !

Contact Terry Chatten to put your name forward (tchatte703@rogers.com) - or - contact any of the coaches for the Rep Teams (see the Coaches page) - or - contact Katie Thomson( katiethomson_1@hotmail) to help out with the House League teams.

Volunteers are the heart of our organization - be a part of it!
