Summer Lacross Camp at West Chester University Ginny Martino 610-436-2394 vmartino@wcupa.edu Ginny Martino is in her eleventh season as the head coach of the womens lacrosse program at West Chester University. She has led WCU to the NCAA Division II title game in six out of the past seven years, winning the National Championship in 2002. Last season the Golden Rams posted a recordsetting 19-2 overall mark and a 14-0 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The Golden Rams won their 19th PSAC Championship crown overall and their eighth league title under Martino (1998-99, 2001-02, 2004-07). She was named the PSAC Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2005 and the NCAA II South Region Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007. In 2001, Martino guided WCU to the PSAC title and an appearance in the NCAA II National Championship game. In recognition of her outstanding season, Martino was named the 2001 PSAC Coach of the Year. The Golden Rams also made consecutive appearances in the predominantly Division I National Lacrosse Championships in 1998 and 1999, while Martino was selected the 1998 Division II National Coach of the Year. A 1988 graduate of UMass, Martino was a fouryear standout for the Minutewomen. She was also a member of the New England National Lacrosse Team from 1987-88. Martinos career at UMass culminated in 1988 when she earned New England Regional Lacrosse and National Lacrosse All-Star Team honors. After graduation, Martino played lacrosse in Czechoslovakia for Team USA in 1989, the Philadelphia National Team in 1990-91, and the Central Region National Team in 1993. ABOUT the CAMP The WCU Lacrosse Camps are designed for the developing lacrosse athlete. The camps will offer individual instruction on fundamental skills in lacrosse, as well as competitive game experiences in a positive learning environment. The latest techniques will be taught by outstanding college and high school coaches, as well as top-level WCU athletes. Ultimate Goal Summer Tournament Team (Girls) Mission Statement: Ultimate lacrosse club was created to develop individual and team skills in young female athletes that want to take their game to the next level. We want to provide an atmosphere that is fun, exciting and competitive. Our coaches encourage our athletes to take risks. We expect our athletes to challenge and hold themselves accountable for their actions. In order to ensure that these girls get the best coaching possible, the coaching staff consists of extremely talented College Lacrosse coaches, graduates, and players. They have taken the time to work with Ultimate in order to increase the development of the game. Ultimate lacrosse club also works to try and form each girl into a well-rounded and responsible lacrosse player that can succeed at the high school and college level. We take pride in the growth of the sport and the club.
