Go Oceanside American!   Baseball has such great memories. One of my best players was a 12 year old pitcher I had back in the 1980's who would take a miniature 'GI Joe' action figure to the mound and place it next to his feet when he pitched (for good luck I suppose--we did win a title that year). But the weird part is that the other teams just laughed. Nobody ever complained about the toy.

Have a terrific season!
Best regards from Rick Fishman, author of Sandlot Summit, the funniest youth baseball story ever.

Vista HS Youth Baseball Clinic

The next Youth Baseball Clinic at Vista HS will be on February 8, 2009. Visit the Vista HS Baseball website for more details or for an entry form.

This is a great way to get noticed by the high school coaches. They DO take notice!

You were gracious hosts when we traveled to play the AAA Mariners. I also had the pleasure to work the bases for the game between your Major Yankees vs. the OV Rockies. After the game, I told the Yankees manager that the team was well coached, disiplined and sportsman-like. (much like the AAA Mariners) Thank you.

Remember: when times get tough on the field and you are not playing so good, there is one thing you CAN control...and that is your effort!

Have a great season and have fun!

Parents or adult family members of players:

Most managers and coaches welcome help in field prep before the games and field breakdown after the game. It doesn't matter if you have any experience or know what to do. They'd be happy to teach you everything that you need to know. Who knows you too may want to become a coach or manager. This is how the process is passed down from family to family. Don't be bashful, just jump in there and get involved.
