East Providence Oceaneers: Welcome
The Rhode Island Oceaneers announced today that its non-profit affiliate East Providence Oceaneers has been sanctioned and approved to operate East Providence's competitive soccer program and to develop a recreational soccer program for Boys and Girls in the under 4 through under 14 divisions. The Oceaneers one of Rhode Islands oldest operating soccer Clubs has a storied past going back to the American Soccer League team of the 1970's which featured many National Team players from the United States, Portugal, Haiti and others.The East Providence Oceaneers hope to bring the "magic" of the Oceaneers of the past to today's youth soccer players. Once sign ups are complete, the Oceaneers will assign your player to a team. We will also assign a coach for your team. Teams will begin to practice once weekly. The coach will determine which night and wear to practice. When you go to your first practice, you will need to bring a ball, shin guards and water. Players should dress warmly and appropriately. Cleats are not required.
Games and practices will begin in April. A shirt and socks will be provided to each player as a uniform. Players can layer clothing under the uniform shirt to stay warm. A schedule will be released as soon as possible for the entire season.
