OAKVILLE ANGELS - 16U: Welcome

Welcome to the 2009 Oakville Angels Midget Tier 1 team website. As the Angels Midget Tier 1 Team, they will play teams from all over Southern Ontario and well as the USA. This team is strictly a travel team and will attend weekend Tier 1 tournaments in Ontario and Class A show case tournaments in the United States throughout the spring and summer. This years team Head Coach is Ian "Kiwi" Abbott, backed up by coaches Greg Cowan and Ron Caughlin as well as managed by GM Larrry Saunders

The 2008 Bantam Tier 1 team finished with 31 wins - 22 losses with 1 GOLD, 3 SILVER and 2 BRONZE and qualified for the 2009 NSA World Series and USSSA World Series.. The 2007 Bantam Tier 1 team finished with 33 wins - 20 losses and 4 ties, and qualified for the 2008 NSA World Series in Columbus Ohio. In 2006 this team competed at the 2006 CANADIAN FASTBALL PEEWEE CHAMPIONSHIPS AND FINSHED WITH A BRONZE MEDAL. Overall we had 49 wins - 20 losses - 5 ties. In 2005 season the team had 33 wins - 28 losses and 5 ties and in 2004 the team had 48 wins - 2 losses - 3 ties.

Angels Midget Tier 1 Team Takes home the first GOLD of the season at the Waterloo Ghost Tournament this past weekend againt the top ranked Brampton Tier 1 team 9 - 3 

Our Midget 1 team played a very good weekend of ball after losing against the Brampton 1 team in the Friday night opener 0-3, the girls shoke it off and beat all remaining teams to put itself in the final where they beat Dave Haick's Brampton 1 team 9 -3 to take home the gold.   Great pitching by Lauren McLaughlin and hitting right through the order helped secure the gold hardware.  Congrats goes out to girls and coaching staff led by Head Coach Ian Abbott.
