THE 15 SOCCER COMMANDMENTS
    I. Thou shalt always obey and respect the coach.
   II. Thou shalt not talk back to the ref.
III. Thou shalt always play the ball, not the player.
   IV. Thou shalt always talk to teammates when on the field.
    V. Thou shalt always move to an open spot (move without the ball).
   VI. Thou shalt always move toward the pass (don't wait).
VII. Thou shalt never turn your back to the ball.
VIII. Thou shalt not dribble when you can make a pass.
   IX. Thou shalt stay wide as a wing.
    X. Thou shalt always try to shoot the first time.
   XI. Thou shalt always congratulate the scorer and the scorer shalt always congratulate the passer.
XII. As a defender, thou shalt always stand between the ball and the goal.
XIII. As a defender, thou shalt only challenge the ball when you have the best chance of winning it.
XIV. As a defender, thou shalt not attack the ball while under the control of the dribbler (backup, restrain, and control).
   XV. As a defender, when in doubt, thou shalt kick it out.


PARENTAL RULES OF THE GAME
1. Let the coaches coach. Too many coaches is confusing.
2. Support the club. Get involved.
3. Be your child's best fan.
4. Support and root for all the players on the team. Foster teamwork.
5. Do not bribe or offer incentives to the child.
6. Encourage your child to talk with the coaches. "Responsibility taking" is a big part of becoming a big-time player.
7. Understand and display appropriate game behavior.
8. Monitor your child's stress level at home.
9. Monitor eating and sleeping habits.
10. Help your child keep his priorities straight. Schoolwork first.
11. Keep soccer in its proper perspective. It should not be larger than life for you.
12. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!
