Busy Weekend for OU Men's Soccer

The OU men's club teams had three total games this past weekend, OU-Crimson took on UCO on Saturday and OSU on Sunday as OU-White played at the University of Tulso on Saturday.

OU-Crimson vs. UCO

The Sooners dominated the run of play on Saturday against UCO and left with a 4-0 victory. After a slow first 15 minutes, OU started scoring and never slowed down. John Vittucci started the run of scoring on a great finish off of a corner in the first half. Pablo Vial took a low cross from Blake Baublits and had a nice two-touch finish to put the Sooners up 2-0. The scoring in the first half concluded with Kyle Crockett making a near-post run on a corner then leaving it for a wide open John Krutty who finished with a first time strike. Max Krapff concluded the scoring in the second half to give the Sooners a 4-0 win. Keepers Alex Parker and David Nelson split time in net for the shutout win.

 OU-White vs. Tulsa

OU-White struggled against Tulsa this weekend and left with a tough loss. Tulsa rushed out to a 3-0 lead early, requiring the Sooners  to push forward in search of a comeback. Bastian Koll scored on an individual effort to bring OU within a two-goal margin, but Tulsa proved too tough for the Sooners and scored a couple more to put the game away. Marcin Rutkowski played in goal to replace usual keeper Nick Nance who was out sick. The loss dropped OU-White to a 1-2 record on the season.

OU-Crimson vs. OSU

OU's Crimson squad traveled to Stillwater last Sunday and came out with a 3-0 Bedlam victory. Pablo Vial started the scoring off in the first half, finishing off a corner kick for his second goal in the last two games. Still in the first half, Corben Campbell gave the Sooners a pair of goals, the first a tap-in off a great individual effort and the second a beautiful curling strike that banked in off the far post. OU dominated the run of play for the entire contest and cruised through the second half. Keepers Alex Parker and David Nelson once again split time in the shutout win behind the back line of Kyle Crockett, Josh Carney, Shawn Carney, John Krutty and Jacob Romig. OU-Crimson preserved their season-long shutout and improved to 4-0.

This weekend OU-Crimson is taking it easy this weekend with no games scheduled. OU-White has a busy weekend on the other hand, with a game at ECU on Saturday and a game at home vs. OSU.
