2011Triple Crown Spring Frost Champions!

In the first tournament of the spring season, the Triple Crown Spring Frost, the Sharks captured their first Triple Crown Championship, defeating the 643 DP Cougars in the championship game by a score of 6-3 at All Tournament Players Park. A combination of dominating pitching, clutch hitting and near flawless defense guided the Sharks to Sunday’s championship showdown. The Sharks faced the North Cobb Warriors to open pool play, and with an offensive display, won 14-4. Next were the ECB Titans where pitching played a key role for the Sharks in the 5-1 victory. Seeded 3rd going into bracket play, the Sharks first opponent was the OTC Bearcats, whose bats came alive late, but the Sharks were able to hold on and win 10-7. Next the Sharks faced another unfamiliar team in the Mill Creek Hawks. Great pitching on both sides kept the game very close until the Sharks offense exploded in the top of the 4th inning, defeating the Hawks 6-2 to advance to the championship game. The Sharks and 643 are familiar opponents, providing a fun, exciting atmosphere and a fantastic baseball game. We are so proud of our boys for their hard work, perseverance and positive attitudes in preparation for and throughout the tournament. It is going to be a very exciting season of SHARK BALL!!
