2007 Summer Raiders 13 wins 9 loss 2 ties
Raiders A and B Teams go a combined 13 wins 9 losses 2 ties.
12 Games were rained out.
Raiders American Legion Team 6 wins 6 losses.
Raiders A team 5 wins 2 losses 1 tie.
Raiders B team 2 wins 1 losses 1 tie.

Thanks goes to all volunteers and fans.

The Raiders Summer league will begin June 4.
The Raiders will play a 38 game schedule, which include A and B Raider teams.
Some Raiders will play on both A and B teams.

20 games will be versus American Legion (18 and Over) teams.

The last game is currently scheduled for July 18.




Monday, June 9
Fernandina take two from Raiders

Raiders drop 1st two American Legion games.
8-4 and 7-5, Chris Geiger starts the 1st game and John Kennett gets the 2nd game.
Next game at Terry Parker vs. Post 283.



Saturday, June 14
Raiders take 2 from Post 137

Raiders sweep double-header vs Post 137 Eagles 2-1 and 5-4.
Chris Geiger pitches a complete game 4 hitter in the 1st game.
This quick 1 hr and 22 minute game featured tight defense and stellar pitching on both sides.
The night cap was tied at 4-4 after 7 innings. In the fateful 8th the Raiders pushed across the winning run when Jacob Hagan led off with a walk, got to second on a wild pitch.
With 1 out Lefty JC Cannon drove a 2-2 pitch down the left field line. Jacob scored the winning run without a throw.



Wednesday, June 18
Raiders 3 - Indians 2
The Raiders defeat the Keystone Heights Indians 3-2.
Billy Gordon started and goes 2 innings allows 1 run.
Andrew Denton gets the next 3 innings and allows 1 run.
Jacob Hagan nails down the victory with 2 innings of shut-out ball.

With the Raiders trailing 2-1 after 5 1/2 innings.
The Raiders score 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead.
Nick Vega gets it started with a ringing double over left fielder.
Tony Voiro follows with a triple in the right center gap.
The right fielder makes a diving effort but the ball gets past him.

Tony Voiro scores when Brad Hall hits a single up the middle.


Saturday, June 21
Raiders sweep Post 88

JC Cannon advances runner on this sacrifice bunt
Chris Geiger pitches second consecutive shut-out 4-0 in 1st game.

JC Cannon drives in Chris Geiger who singled and stole 2nd, in the 1st inning for the only run needed. Ben Feria caught the entire game and threw out a basestealer in the top of the 2nd inning.
Raiders tacked on 3 more runs in the bottom of the second.
This game lasted 1 hr and 21 minutes.


John Kennett pitches a 7-0 no-hitter in second game .
Nick Vega hits a double to drive in JC Cannon for the only run John Kennett needed.
Tony Voiro(single, triple), JD Aut ( double, 2 singles), Joey Sheppard(2 hits, 2 runs) and Brad Hall (single and double) got run scoring hits.

Wednesday, June 25
Raiders split home/away double-header vs. Keystone

2007 Summer Raiders B Team
Raiders A team at Keystone defeat the Indians 11-2.
Brad Hall hits grand slam in 1st inning as Raiders score 7 runs in top of the 1st.

Raiders B team at home fall to the Indians 10-8.
Raiders had a 8-6 lead in the top of the 7th, but couldn't hold on as the Indians score 4 to grab the lead and the game.


Friday, June 27
Raiders 12 - Panthers 3

Raiders trailing 1-0 after the 1st, score 6 runs in the next 2 innings.
Tony Voiro goes 3 gritty innings, Nick Vega and Josh Howell each go 2 innings to close out the game.
Chris Hnatusko and Brad Hall and the rest of the Raiders, continue their hot hitting.
Derek Davis and John Cassman split catching duties.


Thursday, July 3
Raiders split double-header vs. Fernandina Legion team

On a rainy and miserable day in OP, the Raiders travelled to sunny but windy Fernandina to take on the American Legion team.

Raiders take first game 3-1 behind starter Chris Geiger (5 inn.) and Joey Sheppard (2 inn.) combined 4 hitter.

Fernandina takes 2nd game 4-1.
For the Raiders Ben Feria (4 inn.) and Tony Voiro (3 inn.), pitched well.
However the Raiders offense, couldn't cash in on several opportunities.



Saturday, July 5
Post 283 sweeps Raiders

Raiders drop 2 to the talented and hard hitting Post 283.
One player from Post 283 is thrown out of the 1st game for arguing with the home plate umpire.
In the second game the Raiders could not hold 1-0 lead in the top of the 6th.
This game was also marred by a bean ball incident.


Thursday, July 10
Raiders sweep Matanzas Pirates in A/B doubleheader

Raiders "A" take 1st game 9-4.
Raiders "B" take 2nd game 8-4.


Wednesday, July 16
Raiders 5 - Palatka 5
On a blustery night with threatening skies.
Palatka takes a 4 run lead after 2 innings.
Raiders battle back late and take a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the 6th.
Palatka ties it with a run in the top of the 7th.

The Umpires call the game due to lightning.

The teams battled for 11 innings.
The best High School baseball players, chosen by the coaches.
