OHIO HEAT BASEBALL PROGRAM, INC. 2012 9U-THRU 18U & OHIO HEAT COLLEGIATE BASEBALL

The Ohio Heat is entering its 14th year as a top level select AABC baseball program. The Ohio Heat has always been one of the top teams in Cincinnati, Ohio and the surrounding region. This year the Ohio Heat Baseball Progam will have teams and affiliates in the 10-U, 11U, 12-U, 13-U, 14-U, 15-U, 16-U, 17-U, & 18-U, along with expansion into Northern Kentucky with Bobby Mullins having a 17/18U team is in their second year as a Ohio Heat affiliate in the Commonwealth know as At The Yard Rooster/Heat. The Collegiate team will be Managed by John Silvani, President of Ohio Heat Basesball, playing in the Southern Valley Ohio Collegiate League, while all other teams will be playing in the National Divison of the Southwest Ohio League, a member of the SWOL for 14 years continuous years. 2008 marked the end of the first round for the Ohio Heat Baseball Program as we completed the 9U thru 18U starting with our 9U team in 1999 as one of 7 9U National League teams. The Ohio Heat Oragnization won three National Championships in 2007 and did very well placing in the top 3 in some major events and winning many Tournaments throughout the program. The 18U Ohio Heat won three tournaments in 2008 and placed 5th in the Premier Baseball League's Senior Championships held in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 17U Ohio Heat did extremely well placing in the Championship Round of the CABA Gold High School National Event in Euclid, Ohio while the Ohio Heat 16U team placed in the Championship Round of the CABA Nationals, held in Michigan. Teams for 2012....The Ohio Heat has teams in all age divisions and some have multiple teams. OHIO HEAT COLLEGIATE GETTING READY FOR THE 2012 SEASONTHE OHIO HEAT COLLEGIATE TEAM WILL BE MANAGED AND COACHED BY OHIO HEAT PRESIDENT JOHN SILVANI. THE FOLLOWING COACHING STAFF WILL BE ADDED IN 2012: MARY SILVANI, (Coached collegiately at Morehead College as well as 13 years experience with the Ohio Heat), RON HAWN, 30+ years coaching experience with a championship team in 1985 and the Head Coach of the 18U Ohio Heat in 2010, and ED BRITTON, (Asst. Coach at Princeton High School) 15+ years experience Stat Staff will include SWOL Board Member Wes Girdler: THIS WILL BE THE COACHING STAFF IN 2011.... WE WILL HAVE SOME OF THE AREAS TOP COLLEGIATE TALENT PLAYING IN THE SOUTWEST OHIO LEAGUE SANCTIONED COLLEGIATE WOOD BAT LEAGUE. THE TEAM WILL BEGIN PLAY JUNE 1, 2011 FACING THE CINCINNATI STARS A FIRST YEAR COLLEGE TEAM WITH MOSTLY D1 PLAYERS. WE WILL PLAY THROUGH JULY. For 2012 Our team will be playing in the SWOL National League, additionally we will be playing in very high level tournaments with 2-3 requiring overnight stays. The Ohio Heat Baseball Program, Inc. offers tremendous fundraising to offset participation fees.
10U NATIONAL DIVISION WILL HAVE TRYOUTS THE SAME TIME AND DAY AS THE 16U TEAM ON FIELD #4.

Tuesday, June 14
The Ohio Heat scored 7 runs in the first 5 innings and took a 7-0 lead into the top of the Talons 6th when the bats came awake and the Talons plated 5 runs. Matt Back on his way to his third win of the season with 7 strike outs in 5 and 2/3 innings was taken out and replaced by Jeremy White, UNOH/Elder and his side arm delivery. Jeremy 5 batters and did not allow another run in 3 and 1/3 innings to get the save. Eric Britton, Walsh/UC Clermont stroke his first home run of the young summer when he took a Tyree 1-0 pitch over the right field fence giving the Ohio Heat a 2 run lead in the bottom of two. Thomas Gibson, UNOH/UC Clermont knocked in Jerem White and Eric Britton sacrificed Tyler Haskins, Marietta to make the score 4-0 after three. In the 4th the Ohio Heat had bases loaded with no outs and only scored one run in the 4th, and 2 in the 5th. Alex Isadora, UC Clermont stroked a double to deep left after Andy Depeel, Walsh double to center and scored on Alexes hit. Josh Ungerbuehler was 2 for 4 scoring once. The Ohio Heat managed to bang out 13 hits leaving 7 on base. At the end of the 9 Inning game the Ohio Heat held on to win 7-5. Winning Pitcher Matt Back, Marian University is 3-0 and Jeremy White, UNOH picked up the save.

The Ohio Heat Collegiate team played a very talented Champions Collegiate in the sweltering heat at heritage Park last night and came away with a 9 inning 6-1 victory. The Heat sent UC Clermont Academic All American lefty Giovanni Silvani to the mound where in 4 complete innings he gave up 4 hits, and struck out two, but at the end of 4 complete the Heat could not plate any runs and the score remainded 0-0. Great plays by 2b Jeremy White, UNOH helped hold the opponents scoreless. A wall at catcher Andy Depeel, made it even easier as he had NO passed balls in 9 innings behind the dish. Champions sent UD right hander Joe Cronin to the mound who threw 35 pitches in the first before retireing the Heat. It was a pitchers duel for the first four innings when the Heat went to the crafty Lefthander from Marian College (second year with the Heat), Matt Back who pitched well and gave up th loan unearned run on an overthrow on a one out first and third play. Matt retired the side in the 7th and 8th while, Champions went to Pool to pitch, in the 6th, in the bottom of the 6th the Ohio Heat broke it open when timely hits from Brian Kirschbaum, Huntington College got on and scored, Tyler Haskins also hit well with Marty Greinke beating out a sac. bunt for a base hit. The Heat went on to score 5 more runs and after 6 complete the Heat had a 5 run lead. Matt Back gave up nothing but a couple of hits in the 7th and 8th. In the 9th the Heat brought on closer Brian Kirschbaum who gave up a coupld of hits but ultimately struck out three to end Champions threat. The Ohio Heat went to 3-1 with the win.

THEY PLAY IN THE SAME TYPE LEAGUE AS THE FLORENCE FREEDOM. JORDAN PLAYS FOR MARIETTA COLLEGE WHERE HE STARTED IN RIGHT FIELD AS A FRESHMAN IN 2010. HE IS A FIVE TOOL PLAYER THAT HAS A GREAT WORK ETHIC AND ATTITUDE. WE ARE ALL PROUD OF HIM.

The Ohio Heat 18U beat the McKinney Texas Marshalls 17-1, Missouri Rawlings' Prospects 7-2, The Houston Heat 14-6 (in five), The Arlington Texas A's 11-6 lost to the Louisiana Knights 13-12.
The Ohio Heat landed the #3 seed and earned a Bye in the first round of the Gold Division Championships.
Congratulations to all the young men who are representing Cincinnati and the state of Ohio well in this very strong event.
The following pitchers have done well for the Ohio Heat-- Patrick Curtin/Gio Silvani win against Marshalls 17-1, Brian Bascom/Casey Henn win vs. Rawlings Prospects 7-2, Brad Yinger/Brent Suter win vs. Houston Heat 14-6 (in five) Nate Strome complete game win vs. Arlington A's 11-6.

THE OHIO HEAT BASEBALL PROGRAM CONTINUES TO RUMBLE AND DOMINATE THE FALL SCENE WITH 12 CONSECUTIVE WINS AT PAST TIME PARK. THE LEAGUE AND TOURNAMENT WAS WON BY A COMBINATION OF ALL AGE OHIO HEAT PLAYERS AND FRIENDS OF THE OHIO HEAT 14, 15, 16 AND SOME 17 YEAR OLDS. THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND WAS PLAYED SATURDAY NIGHT WITH A WIN OVER MAC AND FIRE FROM THE WEST SIDE 10-7AND THE DELHI CUBS 9-3 ALSO FROM THE WEST SIDE. GOOD JOB OHIO HEAT BASEBALL!!!!!

IN A RAIN SHORTENED GAME THE OHIO HEAT TRAILED AFTER THE TOP OF THE 5TH 3-0 WHEN TWO HEAT ERRORS LEAD TO THE THREE RUNS. ERIC BRITTON STARTED THE GAME AND PITCHED 4 COMPLETE INNINGS GIVING UP JUST ONE UNEARNED RUN AND KEPT CHAMPIONS TO NOTHING BUT A BUNT SINGLE THRU 4. MATT BACK THEN WENT TO THE MOUND AND GAVE UP A BASE HIT AND JUST TWO UNEARNED RUNS BEFORE GETTING OUT OF THE INNING WITH A DOUBLE PLAY BALL, KIRSCHBAUM TO BEYMER TO LOGAN BAKER. KIRSCHBAUM LEADING OFF HIT A STRONG SHOT TO LEFT CENTER FOR A DOUBLE AND THEN THE NEXT BATTER POPPED OUT AND THEN THE ALES ISADORE HIT INTO A FIELDERS CHOICE MOVING KIRSCHBAUM TO THIRD. JARED WILKENS, THEN CAME TO THE PLATE WITH TWO OUTS AND TWO STRIKES BEFORE HITTINGA HARD KNOCK THAT THE PITCHERS COULD NOT HANDLE EARNING AN INFIELD HIT AND RBI.....TYLER HASKIN GOT HIS SECOND HIT OF THE NIGHT WITH A SINGLE TO RIGHT AND MOVED WILKENS TO SECOND. JOSH UNGERBEUHLER WAS THEN HIT BY A PITCH LOADING THE BASES FOR THE BIG LEFTY ERIC BRITTON WHO SMASHED A SHOT TO RIGHT CENTER SCORING THE THREE RUNS AND EARNING A WALK OFF TRIPLE ALONG THE WAY, AND THREE RBI. AFTER SCORING WHAT WAS THE GAME WINNING RUN WITH THE TRIPLE THE MONSOON RAINS CAME AND THE GAME WAS OVER AFTER 5 COMPLETE. OHIO HEAT 4 CHAMPIONS COLLEGIATE 3. IT WAS A NO DECISON FOR ERIC, WHO PITCHED GREAT BUT EARNED MATT BACK HIS 4TH WIN AND BROUGHT HIS RECORD TO 4 WINS AND ZERO LOSSES WITH A SAVE.
