Orange County Youth Soccer ( OCYS ): 2009 Fall Season

OCYS 2009 FALL Season
Season Start: Games will start on September 12 and last through November 14.
Practices may begin in August.
Registration:
1. You may registrar online at http://orangetexassoccer.com
2. If you register late and after teams have been made we will attempt to find a spot for the player. But after teams have been made we can not garuntee that the player will have a team to play on.
Uniforms:
Uniforms will be issued to each player and will include (shorts, shirt and socks).
Uniforms will be issued to coaches on August 31, at the coaches meeting (6pm North Orange Baptist Church).
Goalie must were a different color shirt. All children must have shin guards.
Soccer cleats are recommended (no toe cleat).
Roster Shirts
Roster shirts will be avaliable for everyone. This is a great way to support your team. They will be color specific and have team roster on the back. Roster shirt oders (order form) must be turned in at the August 31 coaches meeting.
Games
Practice:
Practices can begin in August after rosters are handed out.
The OCYS Game fields will be open for practice. Teams with the most work hours will be able to reserve practice times on the fields. These times will be posted on the internet. All teams are welcome to practice on the OCYS fields. Please be courteous and share the fields with other teams. We will be working on the fields this summer, adding dirt and other projects.
Games and Location:
U9 and older age groups travel to other local clubs to play (Port Aurthor, Beaumont, Winnie, and Lumberton).
Information on games and scheduling will be on the website. Information about ranouts will be avaliable on the OCYS information phone line (746-9545) and on the website. If there is any question about weather on game day, PLEASE !!!! call the weather hotline.
Teams:
1. Teams will be made and distributed to the coaches by August 3.
2. Coaches will be given team roster on August 3rd, at the first coaches meeting. All team rosters will be posted on the website. Please give coaches at least a week to contact you before calling the league.
3. You may request to be on a specific team or with a specific coach. Please indicate this on the registration form or on the online sign up. We try to honor request if all possable.
4. We always try to keep teams together with there coach, unless there has been a request made by a guardian to move there child to another team or if there are competitive team opportunities. If a prior coach is not coaching this year youre child will be placed on age appropriate team.
5. We always place kids on teams that are geographically friendly. However sometimes this is impossible to do. We spend a lot of time and effort trying to do this, but sometimes it is not possible.
6. Your child will be assigned to an OCYS league team. If there are not enough players to make a team will collaborate with other local soccer clubs to form a team.
Coaches:
We always need coaches. If you are interested please indicate this on the registration form or on the online application. All returning coaches must attend and recieve a coaching liscene. this information is avaliable on the web site.
Referee: Referee are there to help youre child and your team. Please be respectful and helpful to the referees. Being a referee is alot of fun and you get paid. Any one older than 12 years old can become a referee. All U7 teams and up are required to have a referee represent there team. Fundraiser:
Fundraisers will be handed out to the team coahes on August 3rd and will be turned in on August 31.
All OCYS league players must participate in the fundraiser or purchase a buy out option.
Buy out cost: $25.00. Buy out must be turned into coach and the coach must turn that in on August 31 at the coaches meeting.
Field Work Days:
August 15, 22, 29. We need help primarly marking the fields, garbage pick up and setting up goals. Please come and help, give your child a nice place to play.
