Good Morning Coaches!
Im getting questions about Sponsorship checks, turning them in and getting umpire fees. Here is the easiest way. Text me at 806-3150 let me know you have a sponsor check. I will text you back to let you know that you can exchange it for your umpire check at my house.
If your check is at the P.O, Box, I will call you when I receive it and let you know that you can pick up your umpire check from my house.
If you give your sponsorship check to Yvette or Tracy, they will text me and let me know. Thereafter, I will text you and let you know that you can pick up your umpire check at my house.
Please Keep The Directions To My House. This will save me alot of phone time. We have alot of people willing to help, and we are receiving help in different areas. but the most important thing we need coaches to remember to do is...... don't give us extra work. Actually, if you ask me for directions, I will give them to you. Thereafter, whenever someone asks, I WILL GIVE THEM YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER AND YOU CAN GIVE THEM DIRECTIONS. lol!!
9755 Corbett St. Lv NV 89149
From the 95:
Head West on Ann Road to Grand Canyon
Right on Grand Canyon
Left on Corbett
2nd house on the left.
Also, When you receive your sponsor and your ready to get your sponsor's name placed on the back of your teams' jerseys, you will need to call Rob of Creative Imaging 362-6942. We have an account with his company. You may NOT have custom work. You must bring all jerseys in at the same time. They should be clean. Only the company's name will go on the jersey. Do not ask for logos or telephone numbers. Each jersey will have the same thing printed on it. Turn around time is roughly 2 days. If you choose to use a different company, you will be responsible to pay for it!
Enjoy your games and fans! Also, our website had an eteams glitch that prevented us from working on the site. It was resolved yesterday. Remaining teams are being listed today in the stats and scores. Posting of games will follow.

First, I want to thank everyone for bearing with us during this crazy September. The City did start the reseeding process and our home fields at Majestics should be up and running the first part of October. We do not anticipate any delays in this regard. However, this little "reseeding" glitch has certainly got the dominoes falling!
Since our fields are down the entire month of September, we have been forced to seek accommodations at Lied Middle School and Katz Elementary School. Lied and Katz were originally designated for football. The City divided the space between our two entities. NWGS has the two diamonds from home plate to the white chaulk line (200 ft). Football has the grass area past the 200ft chaulk line. Coaches, please know this was their home and they are accommodating us. Let's be gracious and work together. This also means, that if we are in a game week, you are not entitled to take a practice in the field area designated for football. Remember, this is only through the month of September. Please be kind.
Since our fields are down the entire month of September and we have limited field usage during this time, we were required to start games earlier than usual to get all teams their games. Consequently, this effected our uniform orders. NWGS teams receive custom colored and trimed uniforms. The company requires 4 to 5 weeks to make these uniforms and have them delivered. Our draft took place approximately 2 1/2 weeks ago. Uniform orders were placed the following day. And, of course, we had 18 teams that failed to place their uniform orders and left that extra work for Yvette and I. (Which is perfectly fine, because this league runs itself so Yvette and I have nothing at all to do with regard to the league's vendors, field preps/repairs, the City , ASA Association, the 2,000 parents, 987 players or 321 coaches) Anyway, uniforms have been air shipped and should arrive at Yvette's house by 4pm this afternoon. 371-9704 She will be available to disburse uniforms, game balls and scorebooks between 4:30 and 6:30pm. Wicked 14U, Vegas heat10U, Vegas heat 8U and Vegas Heat6U were the only teams not ready. Those teams will be out tomorrow.
Since our fields are down the entire month of September, the location for Pictures must be changed. We will follow the same schedule and time, however, the location will now be Lied Middle School. If you have questions or concerns in this regard, please email April Thomason at Tedije@aol.com .
Finally, Umpire fees. In the past, the league fronted the umpire fees with the understanding that ALL teams will obtain a team sponsor to help offset these and other league expenses. Well, over the past few seasons, more and more teams are choosing to not support this league and instead, do for their immediate team only. They use sponsors to enter tournaments, get extra clothing, additional uniforms, pay for extra training, cages, etc. This league is a recreational league. Your team is not an "A" ball, "Travel" or "Club" team. We have been very generous in our attempts to allow you the opportunity to extend your recreational team to a more personal level. Those of you that are taking advantage need to realize you are killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. In an effort to protect our privileges, all teams are now required to pay their team's umpire fees up until they retain their team sponsor. All teams are banned from wearing anything but league authorized uniforms until they retain their team sponsor. Finally, all teams are banned from participating in outside tournaments until they retain their team sponsor. Bottom line, get your team sponsor, support our league and our efforts.

Happy President's Day!!! Coaches, Parents and Players. Uniforms should be in this weekend. Once they arrive, you will receive your BAT-A-THON packets at the same time. Please get these out to your players immediately. You will have an extension of time in the amount of 2 weeks to complete your BAT-A-THON fundraising. We had a good turn out at the Sunday Pitchers and Catcher's Clinic. About 27 girls showed for the Pitching instructions and about 20 showed for the Catcher's instructions. Keep it Up!!! The more clinics and practices, the better your games and the stronger our league.

Please be advised that your teams will be required to obtain a team sponsorship in the amount of $350.00 per team. This is not optional. This should be taken care of at your earliest opportunity. Sponsorships should be made payable to Northwest Girls Softball under the leagues 501(c) non-profit status. Our tax identification number is on our Northwest Girls Softball sponsorship forms. A copy of this form is located in your Manager's Book.
Make multiple copies of the leagues Sponsorship form and provide each of your parents with one or two copies so that they may solicit businesses on your teams behalf.
You are not entitled to use the Northwest Girls Softball tax identification number with any other name. Doing so, will result in an automatic expulsion from the Northwest Girls Softball League as well as a Citywide ban from any other league in Las Vegas. This is non-negotiable.
Your team sponsorship in the amount of $350.00 must be obtained and turned in to the League prior to using any other funds for the benefit of your team. This includes funds for tournaments, apparel, equipment, etc.

Teams interested in obtaining an umpire for scrimmage games that they may have set up or want to set up, may do so through Brad Jones. You can email Brad at Bjones@nigrodevelopment.net or you can call him at 525-6083.
This does not guarantee that you will get an umpire for your scrimmage game. It simply means Brad will inquire on your behalf. The UIC indicated that his umpire availability is Tues. 17th, Thurs. 26th, and Sat. 21st and 28th. Weekdays at 6pm and 7:30pm and weekends at 2pm and 4pm.
If you have another day and time in mind, Brad will be happy to inquire as to the availability.

Remember we changed our location for the Spring 2009 Registrations.
Registrations will be held at Grand Slam Batting Cages located at Rancho just South of Craig. (west side of the road behind the Cactus Bar) We would appreciate as many teams as possible registering this Saturday, Dec.6th or next Saturday, Dec. 13th from 9am to 2pm. We would like for you to bring your team's completed registration forms and payment. 6U and 8U teams are $80.00 and 10U and above teams are $90.00. This fee is for early team registrations only.
Also, If you are a coach: we need your coaches' info and your staff"s info as well. Please have the full name, cell number, email address, date of birth and home address for each member of your staff. Your staff is you, your assistant coach, manager and team mom. You should have at least 3 staff members and no more than 4 registered and insured to your team. Again, we would appreciate this information at your earliest opportunity.
We are still reviewing your end of season Round Table Discussions. These discussions were informative and helpful. We were not surprised to discover that the divisions had similar concerns across the board. The discussions were great and we appreciated that everyone stayed focus on the purpose of the meeting.
One of your requests was unanimously accepted and has already been initiated. You asked that Players on existing "C" teams be allowed to tryout and go into the draft in an attempt to be picked up on "B" teams. If the Players are not picked up on "B" teams, the Players will be returned to their existing "C" teams. If any of your players plan to take advantage of this opportunity, it must be followed through and properly documented on the registration form.
