Thank you for visiting the website of the Northwest Nationals Girls 98 Red team. The head coach for the team is Eugene Poublon. Vadim Tolstolutsky serves as the assistant coach for the squad. Scott Henderson serves as the Team Manager for the team.

Spring 2010 PDL Update:

The Nationals strengthened their hold on first place in Division 1 of the Spring 2010 PDL by posting two convincing wins during the February 6/7 weekend.  On February 6, the Nationals earned a 5-1 win over the Crossfire Premier 98A team at Perrigo Community Park in Redmond. Laura tallied two long range goals (one in each half), while Ileana, Kai, and Malia added individual goals in the first half as the team put the game away early. Ileana opened the scoring just three minutes into the game with a 30-yard run and finished with a well-placed strike into the lower left corner. The team led 4-1 at halftime.

On February 7, the Nationals secured a fourth straight PDL win by scoring three second half goals to break a scoreless halftime tie. Ileana opened the game's scoring for the second consecutive day by heading home a corner kick cross by Laura five minutes into second half. Malia and Laura added insurance goals as the team defeated Eastside FC 98 White 3-0 at Mountlake Terrace High School. The Nationals can clinch the Spring 2010 PDL U-11 Division 1 title by winning their final two league games over Washington Premier FC 98 Black and Snohomish United 98 Black.

The two PDL wins over the weekend improved the squad's league record to 4-0-1 and overall mark to 24-11-4.

Team History:

The 12-member team was originally formed following tryouts that took place in May 2009. The team welcomes Katie N. and Mia P. to its roster for Spring 2010 PDL competition. The Nationals are competing in the eight-team PDL First Division grouping during the Spring 2010 season.
