Tuesday, April 19
Senior Aaron Jones pitched a complete game allowing the Bears only two runs, while senior Chantz Medlin hit an opposite field blast that sailed over the right field fence. Houston's county pitching staff was not match for the ten run earning Eagles. This win secured Northside's number two seed in their half of the region which means they host the first round of playoffs.
The Eagles travel to Northside of Columbus tomorrow for more region play action.
Wednesday, April 13
It was the bottom of the 7th and the Eagles were down 8-7. With runners on first and third and two outs, Jesus Monserrat (two strikes) finally batted the ball. The shortstop fumbled; throwing to first too late to get the out, while the tying run squeeked in. Up to bat was Aaron Jones who had already pitched well for the Eagles. He watched a strike and balls go by before sending a ball into the outfield to score the winning run. Walk off hit!!!! Eagles prevail 9-8!!!!
Wednesday, April 6
Northside jumped out to an early lead, but going into the last inning of the game they were tied 9-9. Pitchers were Corey Leverett and Derek Byrne (Win). With two runners on and two outs, FPD intentionally walked Taylor Lay to load the bases for Jason Gifford. Gifford delivered with a line drive that dropped into center field and scored Aaron Davis from 3rd for the WIN!!!!!!!
Monday, March 28
Jake Chastain pitched a complete game with 10 strike outs, 6 hits, 4 walks and giving up only one earned run. Jason Gifford was 4-4, Deon Holmes and B. Reeves were 2-3 and Ethan Broome was 2-4. Great job guys!
Monday, March 28
It was the top of the 7th with Veterans leading 2 to 4. With 2 outs Tyler Martin walked, followed by Dexter Gordy and Deion Holmes' back to back rbi doubles which brought the score to a 4-4 tie. B Whites had an rbi single on an error giving Northside a 5-4 lead. Jason Gifford struck out the side in the bottom of the 7th inning. Great job boys!
Sunday, March 13
Pitchers were Chantz Medlin, Aaron Jones, and Cole McArthur in that order. Aaron Jones homered with a rocket over the left field fence in the 6th inning bringing us to within one run (3-2). Bottom of 7th with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Hunter Bobbitt hit a double scoring two runs and earning the Eagles a victory!!!
Friday, March 4
Cam Brigman threw for 4 innings giving up only 2 runs. Kendall Scott closed it out in the 5th throwing only 5 pitches!! Eagles bats were on fire!!
Thursday, March 3
The Panthers were leading 6-2 after 4 so the Eagles had to do something about it. Pitchers Aaron Jones and Chantz Medlin combined slow the Panther offense. Eagle bats came alive in the 5th and continued until a win resulted with Cole McArthur sending one over the left field fence. Chantz Medlin had two nice hits. Trey Payne hit a long fly ball which also resulted in scoring.
Wednesday, March 2
9th Grade beat Perry 11-4. Dexter Gordy was the winning pitcher - 4 IP, 1ER, 2K, 4BB, Save went to Brandon Reeves - 3 IP, 0ER, 3K, 2BB. Leading hitters were Darius Holmes 2-3 (Double and HR), Jason Gifford 2-3 (single and double), and Arlie Weber 2-4 (2 Doubles). Keep up the good work 9th Graders!!
Monday, February 28
Winning pitcher was Jake Chastain with 5 1/3 innings pitched, 1 earned run, 5 Ks, and 3 walks. Arlie Weber got the save with 1 2/3 innings pitched, 2 Ks, and 1 walk. Hitting was Dexter Gordy 2-3 (2 singles), Ethan Broome 2-4 (2 singles), Jason Gifford 2-4 (2 singles), Jake Chastain 2-4 (2 singles), and Arlie Weber 1-4 (1 single). Great job 9th grade guys!
Thursday, February 24
Brent Sappe was the winning pitcher with Corey Leverett closing. Trey Payne went 3- 4 with a 2 run homer. Good job JV!
Tuesday, February 22
It was a long game. Several long fly balls were hit by the Eagles, but Arlie Weber finally put one over the fence. Pitching for the Eagles was Jason Gifford, Dexter Gordy, and Jake Chastain. Great start 9th grade!!
Monday, February 21
Cole McArthur hit a three run homer, but that was not enough to overcome Tift County. Pitchers were A.J., Brent, and Chantz. Let's be sure to return the favor when they visit Dyson Field.
Monday, February 21
Four homers hit in the game. Hunter Bobbitt hit two, and Kendall Scott and Jesus Monserat each hit one. Way to go boys!
