Mizuno Volleyball Products and Product Team Members Featured in Sporting Goods Dealer Magazine
Mizuno Volleyball received excellent exposure in the October/November issue of Sporting Goods Dealer magazine, both through product shots, and quotes from Mizuno Volleyball product team members. In an article entitled, "Fashion, Fit, and Function," three Mizuno Volleyball products were displayed, along with a product description for each item. The LR6 Kneepad, the Techno Volley II jersey, and the Wave Lightning 4 volleyball shoe are featured in the article. The article focuses on the emerging trends in volleyball apparel and footwear, and how performance and style are leading these changes. The article features input from a few select business unit managers from within the Volleyball industry, including Christine Shelby, Assistant Business Unit Manager for Athletic, and Greg Caiola, Business Unit Manager for Diamond, Mizuno USA, Inc.
Here is what Mizuno's Christine Shelby had to say about the growth and trends of Volleyball:
"Overall, our volleyball business is growing about 20 to 30 percent each year. Schools are moving away from basic T-shirts to more high-end uniforms. There is a lot of money being thrown into uniforms by high schools and even more by club teams. The players want to look good. The styles are more feminine than basketball or softball uniforms. They want to look cute and fashionable and the fabric story is about comfort and moisture wicking. The tops are spandex-the tighter the better."
Here is what Mizuno's Greg Caiola had to say about the growth and trends of Volleyball:
"The consumer is now pretty tech savvy about the need for volleyball specific footwear. Consumers are becoming more educated and wanting volleyball specific product."
