North Lakeland Little League: Spring 2012 Divisions

Junior-Baseball
Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys ages 13-14. The first place team of this division participates in the Tournament of Champions. "All Stars" are from within this division (and/or from within the Senior League Division), and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Junior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.

Tee-Ball
Tee Ball Baseball is for boys and girls 4-6 years who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.

Mini Minor Softball
Mini Minor Softball division will give girls ages 6-8 the opportunity to learn the rules of softball before being placed in a “live pitch” environment. The ball is a 11" and the Umpire will pitch the ball out of a machine 35 feet from home plate at 35MPH. Stealing of 2nd and 3rd base is permitted and only one base is allowed on an over throw.

Minor Softball
Minor League Softball are players ages 8-10 and are the first division of "player pitch." The first place team of this division participates in the Tournament of Champions as well as players can be chosen from among Major Division and/or Minor Division teams can be chosen for “All Stars” at the end of the season. It gives children of this age the opportunity to experience tournament competition, up to state level.

Major Softball
Major League Softball Division is for girls ages 10-12. The first place team of this division participates in the Tournament of Champions. These players also have the opportunity to be chosen for "All Stars" of 11-12-year-olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Girls Little League Softball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.

Junior Softball
Junior League Softball Division is a program for girls ages 13-15. The first place team of this division participates in the Tournament of Champions. These players also have the opportunity to be chosen for "All Stars" of 13-14-year-olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Girls Little League Softball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.

Mini-Minor Baseball
Baseball Pitching Machine league are players ages 6-8. This division utilizes a pitching machine rather than a “coach pitch” option with some modified traditional rules of baseball. 6 year olds that have completed at least 1 year of Tee Ball may be considered for Pitching Machine.

Minor Baseball
Minor Division Baseball is comprised of 8-10 year olds. This division begins “live pitch” baseball. The first place team of this division participates in the Tournament of Champions as well as players can be chosen from among Major Division and/or Minor Division teams can be chosen for “All Stars” at the end of the season. It gives children of this age the opportunity to experience tournament competition, up to state level.
