     Volunteers Needed!

    District 1 Softball All Stars
Hosted by North Everett Little League
    June 27th-July10th

This year at NELL we have been given the opportunity to showcase our NELL spirit and host the 2009 Softball All Stars Tournament.

This is a District run Tournament but we at NELL need to maintain our fields before and after the game, keep score, announce, and of course staff the infamous NELL concession stand.

All proceeds of the Tournament go directly to NELL!

This is not a SOFTBALL event this is a NELL event, & we need all NELL parents, coaches and anyone else willing to pitch in!

Weekend games start @ 9am, with 5 each day & weeknight games @ 5pm with 2 each night. Games last approximately 90 minutes!

    Gamut 360 Aquasox Fundraiser

This is our ONE and only NELL fundraiser, the generous folks at Gamut 360 donate their garage on Broadway for us at NELL to staff at every Aquasox home game, with 100% of the proceeds going to NELL!

This fundraiser helps us keep our Registration costs low and ensures our ability to continue to offer scholarships to the youth of Everett.

WE NEED YOU!

We all owe a great gratitude to the Lockhart & Lason families who carried the tournament, they were there every day in every capacity, and ensured it ran SO smoothly.

    THANK YOU!

A special thanks to the North Everett Umpires!

    Volunteer ID's

Everyone on the field at this point should have a photo ID, this includes practices, warm ups and the dug-outs if you do not have a photo ID you are not permitted to be on the field. (Unless you have spoken to Melissa personally). To save yourself and I the embarassment of having to eject you, please please if you do not have an ID stay off the field and out of the dugout, just enjoy the game!

If you have not had your picture taken you cannot be on the field this is especially the case at tournaments District WILL enforce this strictly!

    Equipment Update

Beginning with the 2009 season, baseball bats with a diameter of 2 5/8 inches are now standard for all teenage baseball divisions (Junior, Senior & Big League). Baseball bats with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches are no longer permitted for use in the Junior League Division of Baseball. Previously these bats could be used in Juniors, but not Seniors & Big League.

In effect for the 2009 season is the requirement that all non-wood bats in Little  League Baseball (Majors) Divisions and below shall be printed with a BPF of  1.15 or less. So, starting the 2009 season, bats printed with a BPF higher than 1.15, or without a BPF printed (or not legible) on the bat, are not permitted in these divisions.

       Little League depends on adults

...Little League, though, involves adult volunteers putting in countless hours of planning, scheduling, bookkeeping, fundraising, recruiting coaches, maintaining fields and doing jobs most players' parents never think about.
