Mid State ASA Commissioners Cup
The No Mercy girls went 4-4 in the 18u "A" division held this past weekend at The American Legion Sports Complex. This was a 5 game guarantee. Pool play started rough with losses to the Diamond Wildcats (5-1) and Rattlers(6-0). Bracket play opened with a (5-4) win over the Cole County Bearsand then the Rattlers put us in the losers bracket with a (6-2) loss in 8 innings. In the losers bracket we faced the Cole County Bears again with a (4-1) victory. We then face the Mid Mo Kaos in quarter finals with a (5-4) win with 1 inning played as ITB because time had expired. In semi finals we beat the Diamond Wildcats(2-1) in 10 innings of which 3 were ITB rules. In the Championship game we lost (6-0) to the Rattlers . It was a good game as the score was Rattlers 2-0 against the No Mercy girls through 4 innings but the girls just ran out of gas and we lost (6-0) in 5 innings.
USSSA World Series
The No Mercy girls took 13th place in the 16u "A" division of the USSSA World Series held in Blue Springs, MO. We started pool play with a 2-1 win over the St. Louis Outlaws and then lost to the MV Express (who finished 3rd) 1-0 and we finished pool play with a loss to the Ca. Cruisers 6-3 who tied for 7th place. It was a very strong pool and was fun for all the girls. We started bracket play with a win over the Cincy Storm 3-1 after a 1 hr time delay because they didn't check brackets and know their game times. There was a great deal of patience involved by the tournament director and our team. I was proud of the girls for not letting this distraction affect their game.We then lost our next game 0-4 to the Cincinnati Elite. We knew that the loosers bracket would be tough because we were just 3 games from playing for championship when we lost to the Elite and then we had fresh teams coming down from the upper bracket that we had to defeat to continue on. We won our next game against the Michigan Tidal Waves 1-0. Our World Series bid was cut short by the Michigan Lightning with a 2-0 loss

Congratulation girls on work well done. Continue to work hard to add your name to this list and to add numbers behind your name. Pitchers are practiceing 2-3 times per week to get you out so you will need to do the same to make sure they don't.
