Niskayuna’s Pop Warner Cheerleading Squad is on their way to the Eastern Region Cheer Championships!
Niskayuna’s Pop Warner “Pee Wee” Cheerleading Squad is having a banner season. This past weekend they took top honors out of eight teams in their division at the Pop Warner Eastern Region North Cheer Competition Qualifier in Utica, NY. Niskayuna qualified to compete in Utica with a second place award at the Capital District Pop Warner Cheer Competition on October 9. The win in Utica now qualifies these talented girls, ranging in age from 9 – 12 to compete at the Eastern Region Championships, held November 12 -13 in Trenton, NJ. This is the first Niskayuna team in 6 years to advance to the Eastern Region Championships. The team is supported by a dedicated coaching staff, parents and the guidance of the NHS cheer team, who were part of the Pop Warner team that advanced to the Eastern Region Championships 6 years ago.
Congratulations to the girls and staff....Good Luck in Trenton!!

IMPORTANT NISKAYUNA FLAG FOOTBALL NEWS!
Dear Flag Football Families:
I have bad news and good news for you. First, the bad news:
Due to the extensive rains that we have received over the past week, Niskayuna Youth Football will be canceling the first practice and parent meeting scheduled for September 10, 2011. Unfortunately, the rain has left the field in an unplayable condition.
In addition, the coaches’ field clean-up that was scheduled for tonight will also be postponed until next Friday, September 16, 2011.
There will be a practice for all programs on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. , as previously scheduled.
Now, the good news:
We have decided to extend our season one additional week to make up for losing practice this Saturday. As a result, the participants in our program will have the chance to play an additional game to make-up for the practice that we will miss this weekend.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday night!
