The 96'er is obviously makes a reference to the huge steak that John Candy eats in The Great Outdoors. It also represents the average golf score for a good portion of our group - the year 96 was most of our drinking and partying prime - and the of course dulled wit humor of the reverse 69 to represent the debauchery that is sure to take place on the weekend -- therefore encompassing Red meat, golf, drinking, humor and lude behavior - the 96'er was born.
