Amendment to the NELL Bylaws
At the NELL board meeting on May 2, 2012 the board voted to amend Section 19 of the NELL bylaws to change the minimum number of players on the 12-year old tournament team from 12 to 11. The current Bylaws read as follows:
Section 19: Twelve Year Old (Little League Division) Tournament Team:
The Tournament Team (consisting of 11 and 12 year old players) will be voted on by the Major League Managers (weighted 45%), President (weighted 5%) and players (weighted 50%). The team consists of twelve (12) to fourteen (14) players, as determined by the Board of Directors. The team is composed of the top ten (10) players in total votes; The manager chooses 2-4 players from the next six (6) twelve year olds in total votes (i.e. finishing 11 through 16) or from the top three (3) eleven year olds in total votes. If a player voted in the top ten chooses not to play, the next player in total votes is elected to the team.
The amended Section 19 reads (changes in bold):

NELL Composite Bat Guidelines
Little League International has issued guidelines regarding the use of composite bats during Little League play. NELL provides compliant bats for each team but, obviously, many players have their own bats, and many of those bats are composite.
If your child brings his/her own composite bat, you (the parent) are required to retain and have accessible, at all times, documentation proving the bat is compliant. Without documentation, the bat can be disallowed. See the link, provided below, that details which composite bats are approved for use by Little League International.

If your child uses an approved composite bat, please print out the page linked above and keep it in his/her bat bag. That way, any questions over which bats are allowed, and which are not, can be easily resolved.
