Newton South Little League: T-Ball

Monday, February 7
Overview

Newton South Little League’s 2012 T-Ball Program is for all 4, 5 and 6 year old boys and girls that reside in the City of Newton or attend one of Newton’s many private and public schools.

The Schedule: The Program is split into instruction Clinics (usually on Sundays from 1PM to 3PM) where we use rotational stations to reinforce basic baseball skills) and play games on Wednesday evenings (from 5:30PM-6:30PM or so). We will always be together as a group on the same field which has generally been the Angier School  field for the past few years.

What should you be doing right now? Register your child. The T-Ball Program is designed as an introduction to baseball and a place to have fun while learning some basic fundamental baseball skills. The Program includes instructional clinics on Sundays where the kids learn how to hold a bat, swing a bat, how to field and throw a baseball, which way to run and a few other important basic skills.

What you can do to help? T-Ball is one of the few programs where it is difficult to get the word out to parents quickly since it is sometimes their first exposure to Little League. Getting the word out early will help avoid the rush in late April when people start hearing about the Program because the winter hibernation is over.  Please keep in mind that some of the dates and places may change as the entire league starts to set its schedule for 2012. .

We promise that your kids will have fun, meet some new kids, learn some baseball skills, and most importantly…leave the Program wanting to play more baseball!
