Updated & Ammended Senior Tee Ball Rules
NEW MILFORD LITTLE LEAGUE
2009 RULES - SENIOR TEE-BALL DIVISION
- Maximum game length is 1 hour and 30 minutes or 6 innings.
- No score keeping.
- All players will bat every inning through their entire batting order.
- All players will play the field every inning.
- Ball is foul unless it travels at least 15 feet.
- No bunting.
- No stealing or leading off of a base.
- Coaches may not touch a ball in play.
- No parents or unapproved (by league office) are allowed on the field or in the dugout. Only the Manager and up to two coaches are allowed in the field, and only coaches or approved Team Parent is allowed in the dugout.
- Batting helmets must be worn at all times when player is at bat and when he/she is on the base path.
- Manager
or Coach will pitch for the first six (6) games.
- Manager or Coach will throw a maximum of seven (7) pitches.
- After seventh pitch, the player will bat off of the tee.
- No underhand pitching from Managers or Coaches to players.
- One coach should always be at the tee when a player is up.
- No coaches behind the plate without the proper protective gear — face mask, chest protector and protective cup.
AT THE START OF SEVENTH GAME OF SEASON
- Players
will begin pitching at the start of the seventh game (after ALL teams have
completed six games)
- Pitching rubber will be 35 feet from home plate
- Manager or Coach will stay by the pitcher’s side when he/she is pitching
- Manager or Coach will catch.
- Pitcher will throw 5 (five) pitches per batter — strikes or balls.
- If batter does not hit ball in play, Manager or Coach will relive pitcher for that batter and throw 5 (five) additional pitches before tee is brought out.
- Maximum of 1 (one) inning per pitcher.
- If a pitcher hits two batters during the inning, he or she cannot pitch for the reminder of that game.
i. Hit by pitch qualifies as if the batter attempted to get out of the way of the incoming pitch. If he/she did not, it is not a HBP. If he/she did or did not have the opportunity to get out of the way of the incoming pitch, it will be ruled at HBP.
- No players are ever permitted to play catcher position. Only Manager or Coaches are allowed in the catcher’s position.
- No defensive plays are to be attempted at home plate.
- Outs
will be called for defensive plays made at any base. Player called out
will be retired from the base paths, however every
player will still bat once each inning.
- The inning is retired only after every player has batted in that inning.
- A maximum of two bases will be awarded to any batter who hits the ball through the infield. This rule also applies to base runners.
- Base runners may not leave the base until after the ball crosses home plate or the batter makes contact.
