Nease and Bolles Tie in Final Regular Season Game
Tonight was Senior Night, the special night when we honor and appreciate our departing senior players. Thanks to all the parents that helped make the night happen.
The Panthers were able to salvage a 2-2 tie in the game.
Lisa Heise scored both goals for the Panthers. The first from a pass into the box at the 26:40 mark in the first half from Kristen Hoover making the score 1-0. Bolles knotted the score at 1-1, 12 minutes later.
Heise's second at the 28:24 mark in the second half came off of a direct kick from Meagan Thomas. The lead was shortlived as Bolles evened it up barely a minute later at 2-2.
Final score Nease 2, Bolles 2.
The next game is this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at home versus Fleming Island. The game was originally scehduled for 7:00 p.m. It is the St. John's River Conference Championship game. Districts begin next week.

Panthers and Rams Battle to a Draw
In an unusual Saturday away game, Nease travelled to central Florida to take on the 6A Lake Mary Rams (16-0-2), ranked number 1 in the state by StudentSports.com. With temperatures in the mid 80's it was most definitely not your normal January afternoon weather even for Florida.
The game got off quickly for Lake Mary and within the first 3 minutes Nease was in a 1-0 hole off a Ram breakaway, the goal tainted by what some thought was a blown offsides call. The teams continued to battle for the remainder of the half but the score stayed 1-0.
Lake Mary again got out quickly on the Panthers to start the second half when they upped their lead to 2-0 inside the first minute of play.
That second score seemed to lull the Rams into a false sense of confidence and wake Nease up at the same time.
The intensity level picked up for the Panthers and they shocked Lake Mary at the 31:38 mark when Lisa Heise broke free and sent a cross in from the right side finding Brittany Hawkins in the box at the back post for a perfect header goal. Rams 2, Panthers 1.
Now it was Nease that had the momentum. Barely 6 minutes later Nease shocked the Rams again. This time it was Meagan Thomas who picked off a perfect corner kick from Mary Scott Moore at the back post and headed it home to even the score at 2-2.
Both teams applied pressure over the last 25 minutes but neither could break through. The Panther defense and the solid goalkeeping of Katherine O'Donnell held the Rams attack in check the rest of the way.
Final score Nease 2, Lake Mary 2.
The next game is Tuesday ay home versus Bolles at 7:00 p.m. This will be Senior Night, that special night when we take time to honor the contributions of our 6 senior teammates.
Thursday, January 4
Nease Flies Over Falcons
Coming off the 2 and a half week holiday break, the Panthers got it going quickly, scoring 3 goals in the first 15 minutes and coasting to a 5-1 win over Pedro Menendez.
Kristen Hoover got Nease off on the right foot when she scored on a cross in from the left side from Lisa Heise barely three minutes into the match. Stacey Hanburry made the most of an errant kick by the Falcon keeper pouncing on the ball close in and netting it to put Nease up 2-0. Heise picked up the next goal when she got on the end of a direct kick from Leanna Crossan making it 3-0 Panthers. Jessica Gambill rounded out the scoring for the half when she took a through ball from Lauren Pettigrew all the way to goal slipping it under the diving Falcon keeper for the score. Halftime score was Nease 4 and Menendez 0.
The second half was quiet until the Falcon's Cammy Unrein got her team on the board with their first goal. Mary Scott Moore completed the scoring for Nease when she received a pass into the 18 yard box from the left side from Crossan and her hard shot went in and then through the Falcon keepers hands and into the goal.
Final score, Nease 5, Menendez 1.
The next game is this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. away versus Lake Mary.
Monday, December 18
Nease Edged Out in Aker's Final, 2-1
Nease gave it everything they had but couldn't overcome 6A power Lake Mary losing in the finals, 2-1.
The game was competitive from the outset. Lake Mary was expected to dominate but Nease was going toe-to-toe with the Rams. Katherine O'Donnell was absolutely on her game as she stopped 2 point blank shots within the first 18 minutes of play. Lake Mary was clearly getting frustrated as the first half ticked down. Finally, at the 3:09 mark Lake Mary's Ashley Miller broke through and made it 1-0 Rams. It remained 1-0 going into halftime.
The Panthers and Rams continued their hard-fought battle in the second half. Nease was able to hold the Rams down until the 22:52 mark when Kiersten Hart's goal made it 2-0 Lake Mary.
Nease dug deep and fought back even harder. Again it was seniors Meagan Thomas and Kristen Hoover leading the team back. Thomas was moved from her normal spot on defense to outside midfield to bring more firepower into the attack. Starting from deep within the Nease defensive end she dribbled around several Ram players and up the field along the right sideline. About 10 yards past midfield she made a desperate sliding pass over to Hoover, saving the ball from going out and passing it all in one motion. Hoover carried the ball and spotted Lisa Heise racing down the center of the field with 2 Ram defenders close by. Hoover timed a perfect pass to Heise hitting her in stride. Heise out raced her marks and as she got to the Lake Mary keeper hit a perfect shot into the lower left netting for the Panther score. It was now 2-1 with the Panthers still trailing but continuing to press hard. The attack left the team vulnerable to a Lake Mary counter strike. The Rams tried to put the game safely out of reach and had several breakaways and missed opportunities but the Panther defense and O'Donnell bent but refused to break giving the team a chance to pull off the upset. It was not to be this time as the clock ticked out to zero with the game in Lake Mary's hands.
Final score Lake Mary 2, Nease 1.
The loss could not dampen the pride felt by all in the team's accomplishments in this highly competitive tournament. To finish in second place out of 16 of the top girls high school teams in the state is huge for the school, the program here at Nease and for this team which is making their own mark this season.
To all, enjoy the holiday season. See you in 2007.

Nease Advances to Final!
The Nease Panthers advanced to the finals of the Michelle Aker's Classic with an exciting penalty kick win over the Edgewater High School Fighting Eagles. Edgewater entered the game after defeating previously undefeated and highly regarded Bloomingdale High School on penaly kicks earlier in the day.
This game had all the earmarks of a classic from the get-go. Edgewater scored early in the match at the 36:20 mark and put Nease back on their heels when Eagle Jennifer Nisbitt got a rare ball past Katherine O'Donnell putting Nease in the hole 1-0. The Panther's fought back and had some good chances but couldn't make that final connection. Both keepers were solid and kept the game tight. It was still 1-0 with Nease down at halftime.
The second half continued like the first with good opportunities by both teams. However, time was not on our side. With the clock ticking away and with the Edgewater defense continuing to hold the Panthers in a death grip, it was beginning to look like Nease might be on the losing end for the first time.
That was when the 'senior call' went out. In the Orangewood game, it was Kristen Hoover who answered the call. It was senior Meagan Thomas who stood up and took charge this time. Thomas was moved up the field in the attacking zone as Coach Silverberg looked for ways to get the equalizer. It was Thomas who got the ball on the right side, dribbled over, under and around Eagle's players making her way close in, before ripping an absolute rocket into goal at the far post knotting the game up at 1-1. Despite desperate attempts by both teams in the final 8 minutes, the game ended tied 1-1. There is no overtime play so both teams prepared immediately for a penalty kick conclusion to the match.
As the shooters took their first 5 turns it was back and forth excitement with each attempt. Each team had 2 missed chances one on a huge save from Katherine O'Donnell. Meagan Thomas, Emily Whidby and Lisa Heise all connected for Nease. The shootout remained tied 3-3 after 5 shots by each team. There appeared to be some confusion on the field as to what to do next adding to the drama. Whatever the question was, it was resolved and the shootout continued. The 6th Edgewater shooter stepped up and kicked high, her shot clanking against the crossbar and out. Advantage Nease. Make the shot and we win. Fittingly O'Donnell was chosen to kick 6th for the Panthers. Perfect. Give the Eagle keeper something to think about. O'Donnell cooly placed the ball and stepped back. The whistle blew and Katherine smoked the ball past the Edgewater goalie. Game, set, match Panthers!
For the second consecutive year, Nease advances to the tournament final!
Nease puts their 17-0 undefeated record on the line Monday at 7:00 p.m. versus 6A Lake Mary, 1-0 winners over American Heritage. The game is at the Lake Mary High School site. The game will be the Panthers toughest challenge of the season but to this group it's just the kind of challenge they are looking for. Bring it on!
Edgewater and American Heritage play Friday at 5:00 p.m. for 3rd and 4th place in the same location.

Nease Defeats Orangewood
In their second Aker's tournament game the Panther's were matched up against the 2A Orangewood Christian Rams from Maitland, Florida.
The Rams were a small, quick team who like St. John's Country Day or Episcopal from Jacksonville, have some good middle school age players on the team.
Fans were barely comfortable in their seats at a minute and 18 seconds into the match before the Panther's scored their first goal. Stacy Hanburry continued her torrid scoring pace as she connected for her third tournament goal putting Nease in the lead 1-0 again and for the third time assisted by Kristen Hoover. The teams battled until the the 13:39 mark when Orangewood evened the match 1-1. That score held into halftime.
The second half featured more end to end action but no scoring. Time was running out and it was beginning to look like the game might end in a draw. Games here go directly to nail-biting penalty kicks to determine the winner. Senior Kristen Hoover then did what seniors do in these situations, she took charge and refused to accept anything less than a win. With only 3 minutes to go she took a pass from Christina Dos Santos on the right side and made a run toward the box, dribbling around and through Orangewood defenders. When she got closer in, she slipped it under the Ram's keeper putting Nease on top 2-1 and giving the Panther's the victory.
As always Katherine O'Donnell was brilliant in goal and Meagan Thomas was simply everywhere on defense stepping in to blunt seemingly every attack with a header or a takeway. Hannah Moore and Jessica Gambill have also been outstanding teaming up with Thomas to form a watertight Nease defensive team that has held opponents to only 9 goals in 20 games including 11 shutouts.
With the win, the Panthers advance to play Edgewater High School.

Both Nease goals were scored in the first half off corner kicks from Kristen Hoover to Stacey Hanburry, the first from the right side and the second from the left.
Katherine O'Donnell and the Nease defense was flawless as the team picked up their 11th shutout of the year.
Final score Nease 2, Oviedo 0.

Nease picked up their 8th consecutive victory with an easy 8-0 win over the Sharks of Atlantic High School.
Jessica Gambill led the Panthers with 3 goals. Her first came barely 45 seconds into the match assisted by Lauren Pettigrew. Christina Dos Santos got goal 2 when she netted a rebound close in. Stacey Hanburry made it 3-0 assisted by Brittany Hawkins. Lisa Heise got the 4th Nease goal when she made a penalty kick after a hand ball in the box by an Atlantic defender. Gambill had the next 2 goals assisted by Claire Kasik and Hanburry. The score was 6-0 going into halftime.
Mary Scott Moore made it 7-0 Nease unassisted. Macie Soler-Sala's goal assisted by Christina DosSantos ended the game 15 minutes into the second half by the mercy rule, 8-0.

Panthers Swat Yellow Jackets
The Nease Panthers defeated the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets winning 2-1 and capturing the season series versus the Jackets 2 games to none.
The teams battled through a scoreless first half. At the 27:30 mark Ashley Nicol got the ball over to Lanie Sahs who used her now-patented loft shot to go over the Jacket keeper's head putting Nease up 1-0.
At the 7:59 mark, the ball went over the Yellow Jacket end line giving Nease a corner kick. Kristen Hoover lined up to take it and delivered a beautiful cross that found Meagan Thomas who headed it past the keeper making it 2-0.
The Jackets made things interesting with 5:12 remaining when Lauren Hopfensberger scored making it 2-1.
Nease held on for the final 5 minutes to put out the win.
Final score Nease 2, St. Aug 1.
The next game is Monday at home versus Atlantic at 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, December 6
Nease Victorious Over Bartram
The Nease Panthers battled county-rival Bartram Trail for 80 minutes and came away with a 2-0 win.
As usual in these hard-fought games, Bartram came out with lots of intensity and challenged every possession in the first 15 minutes of the game. After that, the tide slowly turned Nease's way. The Panther's broke down the Bears with less than 2 minutes in the first half when Ashley Nicol dribbled around her defender on the right side and put a shot past the Bartram keeper putting Nease on top 1-0.
Barely 8 minutes into the second half Bartram was awarded a PK and it looked for sure like the game would be tied up. Katherine O'Donnell had other thoughts on the subject and saved the shot and the lead for the Panthers. That save kicked the wind out of the Bears. The Panthers took advantage and at the 29:34 mark Kristen Hoover got loose on the left side and passed the ball over to the middle where Lanie Sahs skillfully lofted a shot from the top of the 18 that went over the Bartram keepers head and skimmed just under the crossbar.
Final score Nease 2, Bartram 0.
Next up St. Augustine at home this Friday.
Tuesday, December 5

With less then 2 minutes in the half Meagan Thomas made it 3-1 Nease off a Moore corner kick. At the 36:42 mark of the second half Brittany Hawkins picked up goal number 4 for Nease when the Clay goalie bobbled the ball and she was there to finish it off. Jess Gambill got the final Nease goal at the 35:40 mark.
Final score Nease 5, Clay 1.

Final score Nease 3, Clay 0.
The next game is a home rematch against these same Clay Blue Devils next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, November 28
Nease Over Palatka
Nease shut out Palatka in a mercy-rule shortened affair, 9-0. As usual with a game like this, the mood was light and the girls had some fun.
Jenn Rinaberger got it going for Nease at the 29:49 mark when she scored off a corner kick from Mary Scott Moore. After that first goal they came fast and furious. It was Moore's turn next 3 minutes later when she found the net assisted by Lauren Pettigrew putting Nease up 2-0. Macie Soler-Sala had the next goal for Nease helped by Katherine O'Donnell who was playing as a field player. Meagan Thomas had the next goal, the first of 4 on the night, assisted by Jessica Gambill. Thomas picked up her second and goal number 5 for Nease at the 19:26 mark assisted by Kristen Hoover. Emily Whidby scored number 6 for the Panthers assisted by Leanna Crossan. Thomas made it 7-0 at the 9:23 mark when she scored unassisted. Hoover found paydirt 3 minutes later assisted by Soler-Sala. Thomas completed the scoring on the night with her 4th assisted by Moore.
The next game is this Wednesday away against Clay High School at 7:00 p.m.
Monday, November 27
Nease Pulls Out a Win
Nease travelled across the beautiful St. John's River tonight to take on Class 2A power, the St. John's Country Day Spartan's. The Spartan's are quick, skilled and well coached and are always one of the best teams in the state at 2A. The Panther's were in for quite a challenge.
The first half was dominated by the Spartans. Only unbelievable play by junior keeper Katherine O'Donnell kept the game even. She saved at least 5 sure goals in the first half alone. SJCD went up 1-0 at the 27:15 mark off a direct kick from about 35 yards out after a late call by the referee. Despite being outplayed and outshot, late in the half Nease came close to evening things up when a shot from Kristen Hoover hit the back post and Nease barely missed the rebound.
Spartan domination continued well into the second half but the score remained 1-0 thanks to some great defending by Nease. It wasn't until the final 10 minutes of the match that Nease finally got things going. At exactly the 9 minute mark, Lanie Sahs got on the end of a loose ball in the box and sent it home making the score 1-1.
The teams continued to battle back and forth with both teams going for the game-winner. The stage was being set for a dramatic finish. With the scoreboard clock stopped at 1:59, Nease got a corner kick on the right side. Hoover took the kick. It flew to the back post and was headed out to the left where Leanna Crossan was waiting. Crossan won the ball from the Spartan defender and sent the ball back into the middle. After being knocked around the goal box by both teams the ball looped out to Ashley Nicol who was able to head it over the leaping Spartan keeper for the huge game-winning goal.
Final score Nease 2, SJCD 1.
The next game is tomorrow night (Tuesday) at home versus Palatka at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday Nease travels to Clay High School for a 7:00 p.m. match.
Tuesday, November 21
Panthers Stampede Mustangs
In the first home game of the season, the Nease Panthers defeated the Mandarin Mustangs, 4-0.
Kristen Hoover got the Panthers on the scoreboard first barely five minutes into the match when she took a slotted ball from Ashley Nicol to goal for a 1-0 Nease lead. At about the 30:00 minute mark, Stacey Hanburry was on the receiving end of a pass from Hoover putting Nease up 2-0. The first half ended at 2-0.
Three minutes into the second stanza, Hoover again found paydirt putting Nease up 3-0 this time off a nifty pass from Christina Dos Santos. Kasey Eckstein capped off the scoring for the Panthers when she took a pass from Mary Scott Moore to goal putting Nease up 4-0.
Final score, Nease 4, Mandarin 0.
Katherine O'Donnell and Hannah Marvin picked up the shutout in goal. It was the Panther's sixth shutout of the season out of 9 games played.
The Panthers next match is Monday, 11/27 when the team takes on St. John's Country Day at their field. St. John's is coming off a big 5-1 win over Episcopal.
To all the Nease soccer friends, fans and families out there, have a warm, wonderful and thankful Thanksgiving!

Nease Tallahassee Kickoff Classic Results
The Panthers travelled to the state capital this weekend for the Tallahassee Kickoff Classic. It is a great measuring stick to see how Nease stacks up against some of the better teams from the Florida panhandle. Chiles and Leon High schools consistently produce the best teams in the Tallahassee area. 4A Gulf Breeze in particular is a team that we might see again later in the season.
The first match on Friday evening was against Chiles High School. Nease easily defeated Chiles in the Timberwolf Classic last year but they are much improved this year.
Chiles came out with alot of intensity in the first 20 minutes but Nease eventually wore them down. With 5:21 left in the first half Nease scored their first goal when Kristen Hoover picked up a pass from Ashley Nicol to put Nease up 1-0.
The second half was more of the same. Nease picked up their second goal at about the 20:00 minute mark when Macie Solar-Sala found a charging Sam Snyder inside the 18. Sam's shot found the back of the net making it 2-0.
Katherine O'Donnell and Hannah Marvin combined for the shutout.
Final score Nease 2, Chiles 0.
The Saturday game pitted Nease against one of the 4A pre-season favorites to make it to state final four, Gulf Breeze High School.
Nease put Gulf Breeze back on their heels early in the match when Meagan Thomas scored of a perfectly-placed direct kick that found the upper 90 on the left. Nease was up 1-0 with barely 3 minutes off the clock. A couple of Nease corner kicks also came very close to finding home in the first 10 minutes or so. Gulf Breeze came back with a vengence and took it to the Panthers. Katherine O'Donnell was awesome in goal and saved several point blank shots to keep Nease in the lead.
Gulf Breeze began the second half like they shot out of a cannon. They quickly scored the equalizer barely 30 seconds in making it 1-1. That score only seemed to give them more confidence and they sustained that level of intensity for about the first 20 minutes of the second half. Several Gulf Breeze shots clanged off the goalpost and away. Again Katherine O'Donnell came up with the big saves to keep the score level. In the final 20 minutes Nease had a couple of good chances of our own but couldn't get the game winner.
Final score Nease 1, Gulf Breeze 1.
Nease plays their first home game of the season on Monday when they take on Mandarin High School at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, November 14
Panthers Roll Over Falcons
Nease rolled to an easy win over district foe Pedro Menendez. The final score was 9-2.
Meagan Thomas picked up the first goal for the Panthers at the 34:22 mark of the first half when she headed in a corner kick from the right side from Kristen Hoover. About 30 seconds later it was Stacey Hanburry's turn as she netted Nease's second, this time courtesy of a Kristen Hoover pass. Claire Kasik picked up goal number 3 at the 15:08 mark assisted by Mary Scott Moore. Kasik returned the favor at the 3:30 mark when she fed Moore for a goal. The first half ended with the score 4-0.
Hanburry picked up her second goal at 36:48 of the second half when she got a short pass in the box from Leanna Crossan and poked the ball past the Falcon keeper. 42 seconds later Kristen Hoover picked up goal number 6 unassisted when she dribbled around the Menendez defenders and put the biscuit in the basket.
Kia John for Menendez finally broke through on a penalty kick at the 25:27 mark making it 6-1 Nease. Macie Solar-Sala put away goal number 7 for Nease at 19:12 when she one-touched in a cross on the ground along the endline on the left side by Kasey Eckstein. The Falcons were able to score their first goal in the run of play at the 14:12 mark when Brittany Robinson redirected a pass from Brenna Croft making it 7-2. Stacey Hanburry got the hat trick at the 6:49 mark assisted by Lanie Sahs. With 25 seconds left in the game, Mary Scott Moore picked up her second goal and the final goal of the game assisted by Eckstein.
Final score Nease 9, Menendez 2.
Next game is this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Tallahassee Kick Off Classic.
Friday, November 10
Panthers Nip Bulldogs
In a close and physical contest, the Nease Panthers came out on top of the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs, 1-0.
Flagler countered the Panthers quick passing, possession game with lots of athleticism, speed and a solid defense. It was not a game where there were alot of good chances around the goal by either team. Nease's defense was the biggest factor in the game successfully turning away and frustrating Bulldog attackers all night. Katherine O'Donnell was solid in goal for the Panthers and came up with a couple of huge, game-saving stops.
After a scoreless first half and with almost 20 minutes gone in the second it was beginning to look like the game might end in a draw. The Panthers kept battling. Kristen Hoover was able to break free on the left side and find an open Lanie Sahs in the middle of the field about 25 yards out. Sahs shot what turned out to be the game-winner for Nease, a lofted shot from the outside that just skimmed under the crossbar out of reach of the Bulldog keeper.
Nease's record in this young season stands at 5-0. Four of the wins have been clean sheets. The Panther's have outscored their opponents 21 to 1.
The Panthers are on the road again at Pedro Menendez High School next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to the Tallahassee Tournament next Friday and Saturday. Our first home game of the season will be on Monday November 20th versus Mandarin High School.

Panthers Win Round 1
Score: Nease 2, St. Augustine 1
Round one to Nease....
In what is sure to be a season long battle, Nease came away with the victory beating St. Augustine in front of their home crowd.
From the opening whistle, St. Augustine came out with lots of energy and controlled the game. They applied lots of pressure, showed good team speed and involved multiple players in the attack. Within the first 13 minutes they broke through going up 1-0.
That was the wakeup call that Nease needed. Senior Kristin Hoover put the team on her back, dribbling her way past challenging Yellow Jacket defenders and scoring the equalizer making it 1-1 with 16 minutes remaining in the half.
The score remained 1-1 at halftime. The second half started and again St. Augustine came out fired up. Nease met their challenge and about 13 minutes into the second stanza a ball was sent in and jangled around the box before Meagan Thomas was able to put away making it 2-1 Nease. The Nease defense and Katherine O'Donnell turned away all the Yellow Jackets attempts the rest of the way and the Panthers came away with the win.

Panthers Fly Past Eagles
It was a cool blustery early November afternoon. 4A Nease and 3A Episcopal have not played one another in 3 years and Eagles home games are now played at Knight Fields, a new venue a couple of miles from the school and very close to the St. Johns River Boathouse. There was a sense of excitement in the air. It was the perfect setting to renew an old rivalry.
Coming off their back-to-back state titles, the Panthers are an unwritten story and have shown lots of promise in this young season. They are a mix of returning veteran players and players from last year's successful JV team with a lone freshman rounding out the roster. The Eagles have alot of excitement this year too and with an infusion of young players and the always dangerous Ms. Kartsonis they feel they can go far.
The game was a physical battle and the level of intensity was very high. Nease played fast. They worked the ball up field and held possession in the Episcopal end for most of the game. Either through panic or intent, the Eagles play was less organized and more direct. They tried to counter by getting the ball quickly to their attacking players.
The Panthers and Eagles went back and forth through a scoreless first half and it was beginning to look like the game might end as a tie. Nease was able to finally break through about midway into the second half. The ball was being passed around the Episcopal end of the field and went from Sam Snyder over to Kristen Hoover who found an open Mary Scott Moore. Moore put the Panthers up 1-0 when got off a low shot that skipped past the diving Eagle keeper who had misjudged the ball.
Meagan Thomas made it 2-0 Nease about 10 minutes later when she faked out an Episcopal defender and lofted a shot that found the back of the net.
The Nease defense was a solid wall and turned away attacks all afternoon. Katherine O'Donnell was flawless in goal and made sure that anything that came through was turned away.
Final score, Nease 2, Episcopal 0.
The next game is away versus county-rival St. Augustine, Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 4

Nease Opens Pre-Season with a Win
The Nease Panthers came out strong and came away with a 5 - 2 victory over Barron Collier High School from Naples.
Freshman Ashley Nicol got the team going with her first high school goal when Kristen Hoover sent her a through ball and Nicol outran the defenders and beat the Collier keeper. Lisa Heise made it 2-0 when she headed in a Hoover corner kick. It was Heise again scoring with her head with Hoover again delivering, this time on a direct kick.
Barron Collier made it interesting when they scored with about 10 minutes left in the first half making it 3-1. Nease responded and with about 36 seconds left in the half Jessica Gambill picked up a loose ball in the 6 yard box and found the back of the net. The score at the end of the half was 4-1.
Barron Collier scored first in the second half about 5 minutes in making it 4-2.
Jess Gambill finished off the scoring for Nease assisted by Nicol.
Final score Nease 5, Barron Collier 2.
Next game is Saturday, 10/28 at 4:00 p.m. versus Lake Mary High School at the same location.

Nease Edged by Lake Mary
The Panthers and Rams battled for a scoreless 75 minutes before Lake Mary scored the game-winner. The Rams held on the final five minutes making the final score 1-0.
Lake Mary is one of the best 6A teams in the state and the game was anyone's until the very end when Lake Mary scored their goal. The game really could have gone either way as both teams had good scoring opportunities. The Lake Mary goal itself was one of those one-in-a-million shots from an impossible angle right at the touchline that was just over our keepers head.
All in all, it was a great weekend of high school soccer with some very positive results for the Panthers.
The next game is away against Palatka this Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
