If you are interested in any aspect of the Diamond’s organization, please attend a Board Meeting. Coaches and parents who have specific concerns will be heard, in most instances, before other Board matters. Please also consider becoming active in our organization.   Board Positions

 
  President: The President shall be the principal executive officer of the NDSA and shall in general supervise and control all of its business and affairs. The President shall preside at all meetings for the Board of Directors. The President is responsible for organizing and conducting monthly Board meetings and oversees all voting by Board members on policy and administrative matters. The President provides the tie breaking vote in case Board is dead locked. He/she provides periodic communication to Diamonds families of activities and Board decisions. The President is also responsible for dispute resolution between Board members, Managers and parents/players. The President communicates to other softball association leaders regarding interaction and competitive issues and approves expenditures including team expenses, equipment, uniforms and special requirements.  
 
  Vice President of Tournaments: The VP of Tournaments chairs the Tournament Committee and is responsible for the operations of all SWS Travel and NDSA Tournament teams and works closely with the Director of Tournament Manager Relations and the Director of Tournament Administration. The VP of Tournaments is responsible for attending Naperville Park District meetings and coordinating NDSA needs to the Park District. This position is also responsible for all lobbying on behalf of the Diamonds regarding the utilization of Park District resources. This position is also responsible for securing fields for all NDSA teams through the Park District and assigning umpires appropriately. In the absence of the President, the VP of Tournaments shall perform the duties of the President. The VP of Tournaments shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Director of Tournament Manager Relations: The Director of Tournament Manager Relations shall be responsible for the recruiting and oversight of all Tournament team managers as well as, recommending managers for approved open positions. This position is an active participant on the Tournament Committee and reports to the VP of Tournaments. The Director of Tournament Manager Relations shall be responsible for organizing and facilitating player tryouts, including the coordination of player drafts/selections. The Director of Tournament Manager Relations shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Director of Tournament Administration: The Director of Tournament Administration is responsible for registration of all SWS Travel and Tournament players and the maintenance of the team rosters for the SWS Travel and NDSA Tournament teams. This position is an active participant on the Tournament Committee and reports to the VP of Tournaments. The Director of Tournament Administration works closely with SWS Travel and NDSA tournament managers to register for and track tournaments for these managers and to report such selections to the Board. The Director of Tournament Administration makes appropriate payments to the tournament directors. They are also responsible for working closely with the Training Director in setting up and maintaining the schedule for the indoor gym training times. The Director of Tournament Administration assists managers in the ASA registration and insurance coverage. The Director of Tournament Administration is responsible for conducting background checks on all managers and coaches. The Director of Administration shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Vice President of Leagues: The Vice President of Leagues chairs the League Committee and is responsible for the operations of all SWS League teams and works closely with the Director of Leagues Manager Relations and the Director of Leagues Administration. The VP of Leagues is responsible for working closely with the Southwest Suburban Girls Fastpitch Softball League. The VP of Leagues attends monthly SWS board meetings as a voting member on behalf of the NDSA and reports to the Naperville Diamonds Board and NDSA Managers, any and all pertinent changes or decisions. In addition, this position is also responsible for coordinating the selection of the Chips all star team and management and their participation in an appropriate number of ‘end of year’ tournaments. In the absence of the President, the VP of Leagues shall perform the duties of the President. The VP of Leagues shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Director of Leagues Manager Relations: The Director of Leagues Manager Relations shall be responsible for the recruiting and oversight of all team managers; as well as, recommending managers for approved open positions. This position is an active participant on the League Committee and reports to the VP of Leagues. The Managerial Relations Director shall be responsible for organizing and facilitating player tryouts, including the coordination of player drafts. The Director of Leagues Manager Relations shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Director of Leagues Administration: The Director of Leagues Administration is responsible for registration of all players and the maintenance of the team rosters for the SWS League teams. This position is an active participant on the League Committee and reports to the VP of Leagues. The Director of Leagues Administration works closely with tournament managers to register for and track tournaments for all SWS League team managers and reports such selections to the Board. The Director of Leagues Administration makes appropriate payments to the tournament directors. They are also responsible for working closely with the Training Director in setting up and maintaining the schedule for the indoor gym training times. The Director of Leagues Administration assists managers in the ASA registration and insurance coverage. The Director of Leagues Administration is responsible for conducting background checks on all managers and coaches. The Director of Leagues Administration shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Secretary: The Secretary shall keep the minutes of the meetings of the board in one or more books provided for that purpose; shall see that all notices are fully given in accordance with the provisions of the bylaws; shall keep a register of the post office address of each director. Shall maintain a record or attendance of the Board meetings and shall notify members of upcoming meetings. The Secretary shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Treasurer: The Treasurer is solely responsible for the NDSA checking account and money management. Responsible for collecting all registration fees, sponsorship and fundraising monies. The Treasurer works closely with various NDSA members to secure approvals for income and expenditures. The Treasurer prepares financial statements to present to the Board once a month. The Treasurer shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Director of Communication: The Director of Communication is responsible for maintaining the NDSA web site and coordinating information broadcasts to Diamond families through automated email. The Director of Communication shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Director of Equipment: The Director of Equipment is responsible for distributing and collecting equipment to and from current managers and purchasing, within budget guidelines, all NDSA equipment for games, indoor gym and individual teams and manages equipment lock boxes at the various field locations. The Director of Equipment shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Training Director: The Training Director organizes indoor training programs including group and specialized training for all NDSA teams. The Training Director is responsible for recommending training facilities and trainers to the Board, and upon their acceptance, contracting and coordinating with appropriate parties for the purpose of providing training activities which will aid players in developing skills and coaches in enhancing effectiveness. Training and clinics need not be limited to NDSA participants. The position is also responsible for providing updates to the Player Development area on the web site, coordinating the registration of fall ball and coordinating any professional coach appearances. The Training Director shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.  
 
  Uniform Director: The Uniform Director is responsible for team uniform recommendation to the Board as well as the management of uniform and spirit wear purchases for NDSA players. The Uniform Director will work closely with an NDSA approved vendor. The Uniform Director shall also perform such other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President of the Board.
