The NYPD Men's and Women's soccer team joined forces las weekend and participated in an 8Vs 8 outdoor soccer tournament at Aviator Sports in Brooklyn. The team battled some tough competition that consisted of many young college teams from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The weather was not helpful as it was one of the coldest days of the year and with the wind chill that sweeps across Floyd Bennett Field made it feel that much colder. After the Round Robin style format the NYPD team found itself with 2 wins, one draw and one loss thus making it to the final after securing a second place standing. In the Final, the NYPD team was matched up against a team of former college players from Binghamton who decisively beat our frozen yet determined side. Much thanks to those players that showed up and participated and did not let a little cold weather keep them from the pitch.
