This is the 2009 Little League Rules Instruction Manual.  Every baseball code has a rulebook and what is called "casebook".  Little League has its own casebook.  The Rules Instruction Manual has this casebook plus instructor comments on the rules and casebook.

 This is a great resource if you are having trouble understanding a rule.

Last weekend I attended a clinic put on by Western Region Instructors.  Some of the instructors are professional umpires who donate their time to this.  The drills are those used at the professional umpire schools but done with the volunteer in mind. 

I've attached a video of the basic six: Ball, strike, safe, out, time, foul.  This is just one of the many drills run.  I've also included a link to the umpires' page of Western Region if anyone is interested in future clinics.  District 9 is looking to hold the clinic the last weekend of February 2010.

There were five sessions of cagework.  One umpire is the "batter".  One is the "catcher".  Another is operating the pitching machine.

Instructors worked with the individual on foul tip mechanic, check swing mechanic, tracking the ball with the eyes, and basic heel-toe stance.
