NVSC Jr. Royals 97 Blue: Welcome

We are the NVSC Jr Royals 97 Blue, a boys U-11 travel team. Our home fields are located at Valley View Park in Nokesville, VA. Our roster includes players from Bristow, Dale City, Manassas, Gainesville, Triangle, and Woodbridge.
We belive that the persuit of excellence helps to develop maturity and self-confidence and that the experience that these players have with this team will be beneficial throughout thier lives.

Saturday, December 6
97 Blue held thier First Award Ceremony/Team Party at L&B's in Dale City today. All the players were there, and the Players had some awesome Pizza and Cake to celebrate the ending of a very Successfull First Season. The boys had a great time hanging out and playing video games and the toy claw snatcher. The Parents had a great time socializing and seeing each other again after a short thanksgiving break. The Coaching Staff held the Teams First Award Ceremony by first Awarding the Team Managers Suzanne and Dianne for thier hard work and dedication and then awarded a team plaque to Coach Dave for his awesome work assisting Coach Steve with the team. All the players were rewarded with a Runners-up plaque from ODSL for Finishing 2nd in ODSL Divsion 2 this past Fall Season. Then the Coach's awarded the Season's Special Awards that the boys worked hard all season to achieve. Then there were 3 players who had perfect attendance and recieved an award for that achievement, and they were: Shane, Edee, and Joey
GREAT JOB, and Congrats to ALL the players for thier achievements this past Fall Season. You all earned those awards and have set the bar high for the spring season. We will post a link for pictures soon.

Coach Steve wants to first thank the 3 Fall Season Captains for doing a GREAT JOB this past season. Edee, Shane, and Ruben did a wonderfull Job and have set the bar high for all captains following them. The new captains will have Big Shoes to fill.
Coach Steve has decided to name 3 new captains for the spring season to allow other members of the team to experience and grow in that leadership role.
Congrats to the following 3 players for being chosen by Coach as the Spring Season Captains: Kyle, Kevin, and Nicky.

97 Blue Finished in 2nd Place in thier very first season as a Team. The Coaching staff is very proud of how the team is progressing, and are excited on how quickly the players are developing. Coach Steve and Dave are looking forward to continueing thier development as they start thier first winter season indoor.
At the Teams Season Party/Award Ceremony the players all recieved a very nice plaque from ODSL rewarding them for their Success.

The Coaching Staff decided with the help of the parents input to take the Two Indoor teams (Royals Revolution, Royals United) to Blacksburg, Va to play in the NRUSA/VT Indoor Tournament January 10th-11th. The team bypassed playing in the Atlantic Cup in December to instead play FUTSAL.

Nick V. has accepted Coach Steve's invite to play with 97 Blue for the winter season. Nick plays GK and will be playing on the Royals Revolution as thier primary GK. Nick has played for Coach Dave before in the All Star Tourney and played this past season in Herndon. The Coaching Staff and the Team extends a warm welcome to Nick and his parents. We look forword to seeing Nick help out the team during the indoor season.

Jake from FCSC will be xferring and joining 97 Blue for both the indoor season and for the upcoming Spring Season of 2009. Jake will provide another threat for 97 Blue on the forward line, and can play both midfield and back if needed. He has very good ball skills and has a knack for putting the ball in the net. Jake guest played for 97 Blue for two games this past season and practiced with them during the summer training sessions and fit right in with the team. The team and the Coaching Staff extends a warm welcome to Jake and his parents and look forward to having you on the team full time.
