NAPA VALLEY SOCCER CLUB: 2010 Divisions

Select Season:
Division I
Napa Valley Soccer Club forms 17 to 20 teams each season. The majority of these teams play at the CYSA Division 1 level, with other teams in the Division 3 level. Division 1 teams are "age pure", meaning all the players will typically be born in the same CYSA year. (The CYSA age is not based on the calendar year, but on an August 1- July 31 year.)

Full 11-a-side teams are formed in U11 through U19 age groups, but not all age groups will always be represented in Division 1. In some years, there are not enough highly skilled, committed players to form a competitive team in a specific age group.

Team formation follows tryouts in March and April of the year. Teams begin training soon after formation, and take part in tournaments in the summer months, followed by league play in the fall. NVSC teams compete primarly in District 5 during league play, although girls' teams U15 and older play in District 6 in the fall due to conflicts with High School soccer in District 5. Some teams play both fall and winter league seasons, followed by State Cup in the winter and/or spring months.
