Welcome to the Napa Valley Soccer Club!

As a program within the Napa Youth Soccer League (NYSL), the Club serves as a home for talented and dedicated youth soccer players to compete in competitive traveling (also known as select) soccer. The NVSC program is designed to provide opportunities for players to excel technically and tactically as individuals and within a team. Teams are formed from the Under-10 age group up to the Under-19 age group. In the U-11 level and up, full 11-a-side teams are formed for league play and tournaments in both Division 1 and Division 3 competitive divisions. The primary goal of the NVSC program is player development.

NVSC and NYSL announce that changes are coming to our local soccer scene in the next few weeks and months.  Changes you will see, changes bringing our soccer community together, changes for the better.

Established over 30 years ago as Napa Youth Soccer League (NYSL) and as a 501C3 non-profit, our local soccer organization has continued to provide the youth of the Napa Valley with invaluable social experiences and a fun way to exercise. In addition, NYSL offers different playing level opportunities for many age groups that also include a competitive travel program under the direction of the Napa Valley Soccer Club (NVSC). As of January 2013, we have successfully merged the two organization platforms together to form what is now called Napa United which currently serves nearly 2000 players and is growing!  There are many advantages realized by uniting the two platforms and include organizational efficiencies, improved player development, and better community representation.

Over the next few months, you will start to see new Napa United marketing materials and community outreach efforts from our board members. We are excited to share this news with you and look forward to further developing Napa United into the best soccer program in the area.

Coming Soon….Napa United!!

Stay tuned for more updates as we transition to our new website.

NV Soccer Club Bolts capture U13 girls title at Breakers Cup

The Napa Valley Soccer Club Bolts captured the championship at the 11th annual Santa Cruz Breakers Cup in the U13 girls Silver Division. The team played its games at UC Santa Cruz with two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday. The Bolts won all four games with a total of 10 goals scored and no goals allowed.

The Bolts opened play Saturday morning with a 6-0 win over the Los Gatos Bobcats. Hannah Williams and Cailin LeTourneau each scored two goals while Julianna Moreno and Madeline Beitz scored goals as well in this opening match. Strong midfield play was provided by Alaina Housley with solid defensive work provided by Rachel Weston.

In the afternoon game, the Bolts defeated the Pleasant Hill-Martinez Heritage Nighthawks 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Cailin LeTourneau on a beautiful assist from Julianna Moreno. Jessica Schreuder was strong in the goal with several game-saving stops. Excellent defensive play was provided by Libby Hatton with strong midfield work by Carlyn Bacci.

On Sunday morning, the Bolts won 2-0 over the Danville Mustang Fury to secure their place in the championship match. The goals were scored by Katie Myhre and Julianna Moreno. Anie Ilsley was a defensive standout with tireless midfield work by Kayla de Leuze, who also provided the assist on the first goal.

In the final match, the Bolts won a hard fought game, 1-0 over the San Mateo Gryphons. The winning goal was scored by Julianna Moreno on an assist from Ileana Souza Puente. Jessica Schreuder once again provided excellent goalkeeping with strong field play from Peyton Troendly and Hannah Williams.

At the presentation ceremony, coach Chad LeTourneau and team manager Glenn Schreuder graciously accepted the 2012 Breakers Cup with each girl receiving individual first-place medals.

The U13 Bolts will advance to the Gold Division of competition in the fall following two successful seasons in the Silver Division.

“Our U13 girls are learning to work hard and apply themselves,” Napa Valley Soccer Club president Arik Housley said. “They are starting to see the results of their sincere efforts. On behalf of the board of directors of both the Napa Valley Soccer Club and its parent organization the Napa Youth Soccer League, we congratulate the Bolts for their hard fought victory.”
