THE PLAY BALL! PROGRAM is a new way of introducing the sport of Baseball to children. This program is patterned after informal playground games which teach all the basic skills for ALL players and skill levels. It also provides parents/coaches the necessary tools to teach these skills and have fun with their child/team. The child will experience excitement, enjoyment and success. It is a weekly hour of FUN and LOTS OF ACTION. Participants will go home at the end of the night happy and tired, while improving their fitness level.
One session per week.

FARM
Ages:
1 May 2001 - 30 Apr 2004
Focused on fun and the development of basic baseball skills. Coaches pitch. The team bats through 1/2 the roster each inning without a limit on runs or outs; the last batter in the inning clears the bases. No score is kept.
Two games and 1 practice per week.

MINORS AA
1 May 1998 - 30 Apr 2001
A pitching machine is used which allows more success at the plate and more action for the fielders. Players pitch limited innings in the last portion of the season. Innings end with 3 outs, but there is a maximum of 5 runs per inning.
All Minors players must attend a pre-season assessment to establish whether they should play AA or AAA, and to allow the league to balance the teams. Games are scheduled to interlock with adjoining leagues.
Approximately two games and 1 practice each week (varied schedule).

MINORS AAA

While the rules are basically the same as in Minors AA, this is a more competitive level of play. Players pitch.
All Minors players must attend a pre-season assessment to establish whether they should play AA or AAA, and to allow the league to balance the teams. Games are scheduled to interlock with adjoining District 5 Leagues.
Approximately two games and 1 practice each week (varied schedule).

MAJORS
Ages:
1 May 1997 - 30 Apr 1999
This is a more intense level of play. Players must be selected by a draft process after tryouts. Games are scheduled to interlock with adjoining District 5 Leagues.
As many as 3 games and 3 practices each week.
2010 fee: $175.00
JUNIORS
Ages:
1 May 1995 - 30 Apr 1997
Assessments may take place if warranted by the number of registrants.
Team(s) participate in one of two tiers of a league that includes other Lower Mainland District Leagues. Games are scheduled by District 5.

SENIORS

Seniors 1 May 1993 - 30 Apr 1995
NVC combines with adjacent league to form a team. Assessments may take place if warranted by the number of registrants.
Team(s) participate in one of two tiers of a league that includes other Lower Mainland District Leagues. Games are scheduled by District 5.

BIGS

CHALLENGER
Highlands Little League hosts a Challenger Division, meant to appeal to players aged 5 through 18 with special needs living on the North Shore. Information can be found on the Highlands Little League website at www.highlandsbaseball.com.
