Class of 2013

Joe Altieri - Albany, NY Athletics - GM / Manager

Joe has coached 18 seasons an has won 612 games to date along with 6 League Titles, 9 AABC State Titles, 3 AABC Regional Crowns and the 2012 AABC Stan Musial World Series Title.

Rob Arnold - Canton, OH Stallions - Player

Rob has been on 4 National Title Teams with the Stallions and has been the glue that's held them together for 15 seasons. A solid left handed hitter who has been at the top of the Stallions order since day 1. More to come

Bill Becker - Minnesota Baseball Association - Writer

Bill has been covering the MBA for over 30 season's and is the pulse of Semi-Pro Baseball in the land of 10,000 lakes.   

Kelly Bohmbach - Red Wing, MN Aces - GM

Kelly has been a player a coach and now serves as the GM of the Red Wing Aces and has one of the finest amateur ball parks in the county in the ATH. Kelly's 30 years of service to the Aces are one of the reasons they have one of the finest programs in Minnesota.

Keith Essary - Columbia, TN Curve / Corrinth, MS Cobras - Owner / Manager

Keith has started not one but 2 semi-pro franchises during his career. His Corrinth, MS Cobras came on the scene in the late 1990's as they were annual entries into the USBC World Series.  After a move to Columbia, TN. in 2003 Kieth brought Semi-Pro to a level that Central Tennessee has never known taking his Curve to Hattiesburg, MS for the ASPBA World Series and finishing in the final 4 3 times. Kieth's insight and determination has taken him to the Independent Professional Leagues in Texas these days. 

Sam Hartsfield - Evansville, IN Outlaws - Coach

  Sam started with the Outlaws in their first year and stayed with the Club all 18 seasons. Sam served as the Outlaws 3B coach, pitching coach and helped with every tournament the Laws ever hosted.  As a player Sam pitched professionally in the Giants organization and spent time in semi-pro in Western KY and the IK and Double I Leagues in Soutern Indiana 

Tom McCarthy - Pittsburg, PA St. John's Lefty's - Manager

Tom has been the Player/Manager for the St. John's team over 20 years, Last year the Lefty's broke thru winning thier first National Title taking the 2013 NABF Major Division Title.  St. John's has a National Runner-Up finish in the NABF WS.

Jayson Mobley - Brunswick. MD Orioles - Player

Jayson has been a fixture in the Orioles lineup for several seasons. He was part of the Orioles squad that captured the 2004 NABF Major Division World Series Title. More to come 

 Rick Mulinix - Canton, OH Stallions - Player

Rick has played on 4 World Series Championship Teams (3 AABC , 1 NABF)  and has been the Anchor behind the Plate for 15 seasons.  A multi time AABC Stan Musial All Tournament Team Selection Rick has been a pivotal part of the Stallion Machine that has dominated the East Central Regional since 2000.

Brent Owens - Kokomo IN CFD Saints - Player / Coach

Brent Played all 14 seasons with the Saints and holds most of their offensive records. Brent also hosted one of the most loaded Memorial Day Week-End tournaments at Highland Park in Kokomo bringing in teams from all over Indiana, Ohio Illinois and Missouri. 

Mick Owens - Kokomo, Highlanders -Player Kokomo, IN CFD Saints - Manager

Mick starred as a player for the Legendary Kokomo Highlanders and later Founded the CFD Saints and managed them to over 400 wins and 3 World Series (2 NBC, 1 USBC) along the way winning a couple AABC Stan Musial State Titles.

Tony Phillips - Hattiesburg, MS Black Sox - Player

The smooth throwing righty has been the backbone of the Black Sox staff for the last decade.  Tony Phillips has been called on many times to throw a 2nd and 3rd game of a tournament. In 2004 Tony threw 2 7 inning shutouts in less than 24 hours at the US Baseball Congress World Series

Reno Powell - Hagarstown, MD Braves - Founder / Manager

Reno founded the Hagarstown franchise and in his honor The Annual Reno Powell Tournament is held in Maryland every year. More to Come 

Greg Reddington Louisville, KY Star Drywall / NABF Major Division Director

Greg was a pitcher on Star Drywall and later served as a Coach before running the NABF World Series for over 20 years as well as the Derby City League.

Phil Sabatka - Canton, OH Stallions - Player

A Power House of Power Phil hit over 60 HR's in his Stallions career and was a feared hitter throughout the Midwest.  Phil played on 4 National Title Teams.

Donny Shemwell - Evansville, IN Outlaws - Player 

Donny is the Evansville Outlaws All Time Wins Leader and has been part of 6 National Title Teams. Donny's 9 inning complete game over the DuBois Bombers of the Frontier League in an exhibition game was only one of his great performances.

David Treska - Sommerville Alibrandis , MA -  President & CEO

David Treska is Sommerville Alibrandis Baseball, As a Player/Manager David led his club to several Yawkey League Titles in the Boston League. Today Dave serves as the Front Office Leader as well as serving on the Yawkey League Board of Directors 


Class of 2012


Roger Dawson - Player Manager - Brunswick, MD Orioles

Scott Frye - Player - Brunswick, MD Orioles 

Scotty was a two way star for the Orioles playing SS and the hard throwing Righty was also in the Rotation.  Scott was part of the squad that brought the Orioles their first National Title winning the 2004 NABF Major Division World Series.

Mary Bolen - General Manger - Plaza Tire Capahas - Cape Girardeau, MO.

The Backbone of the Capahas Mary B has been there over 45 years with her husband Jess running America's 2nd oldest active Semi-Pro Team. Mary does most of the fundraising, scheduling and media among other duties for the Capahas.

Doug Darnell - Player - Memphis, TN Royals

Doug Darnell's 2 Run HR in the top of the 9th Inning put the Royals ahead that day with a 6 to 5 Victory over the Evansville Outlaws in the 2nd USBC World Series Championship Game that day, giving the Royals their first National Title. Doug was also part of 8 Tenn. AABC State Title Teams anchoring the plate for the Royals.

Johnny Ray - Player / Manager - Memphis, TN Royals, Dullins Academy

The hard throwing Right Hander pitched many a game for the Memphis Royals after his playing days in the Cincinnati Reds farm system. Johnny played on 8 AABC Tenn State Championship Team as well as the Royals 1999 USBC World Title Team that went 67 & 1 and  also won an International Title that season too.

Bob Alles / Manager / Jasper, IN Reds

Bob was a Player Manager for the Reds for over 25 years guiding the Reds to over 400 wns and their first trip to the NBC World Series. Today Bob serves as the Reds GM keeping the oldest active team in the US going each summer.  Bob also has been a league President of the Southern Indiana Semi-Pro League and formerly was an administrator of the Lincoln Land League.  

Denny Lehnus / Manager / Kankakee, IL Chiefs

Ed Meredith / Player / Kankakee, IL Chiefs

Ed was the All Time Winningest Pitcher for the Chiefs as well as Strikeout Leader winning over 50 games as the Chiefs won 4 IL NBC State Titles and made 4 trips to the NBC World Series in Wichita, KS.

Dave Lambert / Player / Kankakee, IL Chiefs

Dave was the Chiefs Hank Aaron, leading them in every offensive category during thier 16 year run of 4 IL NBC State Titles and 4 trips to Wichita, KS to the NBC World Series.

Roger Begue - Player - Canton, OH Stallions

One of the most dominant pitchers in the history of the Stan Musial AABC World Series Roger was always the Canton Stallions first gun out on the mound opening every tournament for them,

Nate Shepherd - Player - Evansville, IN Outlaws

Nate "the Vulture" Shepherd won over 75 games as well as 8 World Series Wins to his credit.  His two trips to the NBC World Series in 1994 earned him a Win throwing a complete game after working an 8 hour shift and driving 550 miles the 2nd time that week. 

Andy Hoffman - Player - Evansville, IN Oultaws

Hoffy was the true defintion of the Ultimate Utility Player Having played all 9 poisitons in one game including an un assitted triple play. Andy belted 102 HR's including 12 in World Series play and was a part of 6 National Title Teams. Catcher by trade Andy became an outstanding infielder playing 3B,2B,1B and pitching when called upon. 


Class of 2011

Mike Coggins - Manager - Paschelles Bakery & A Plus Plumbing / CT

Mike retired as the winningest Manager of his franchise. His Bakers won the NABF Major Division World Series Title more to come 

Dick Orcutt - Manager - Colorado, Sox

Dick's Sox's have made many appearances at the NBC World Series and for years has been Colorado's power house team. 

Joe O'Brien - Player Manager - O'B Clarks / St. Louis, MO

 Joe founded the powerful O'B Clarks team made up of stars from all over the St. Louis Metro area. As a player he was a sure handed first baseman. In 2005, 2006 the O'B Clark team had back to back final 4 finishes in Wichita, KS.

Bill Storrs - Manager - Crestwood Panthers / Crestwood, IL

One of the Major Backbones of the Chicago Suburban Baseball League Bill's Teams have made several appearences in the NBC World Series in Wichita, KS and has won over 700 games as he continues to guide the Panthers today. 

Mark Dietz - Manager - Cincinatti , OH Cobalts

Mark the Co-Balts founder has won over 600 games and taken the Co-Balts to both the AABC Stan Musial WS and the NABF Major Division WS along the way capturing a few CRC League titles in Cincinnati, OH

Trey Aby - Player Manager - Hattiesburg , Miss Black Sox

Trey bought the Black Sox Franchise in 2001 and took the Black Sox to the National Level.  His Black Sox have won over 600 in the last 13 years . In 2007 the Black Sox Won both the NSPBA (Wood Bat) and ASPBA Metal Bat World Series in the same season. They have also won 3 more ASPBA World Titles along the way. 

Fred LeSage - Manager - Beecher , IL Muskies

Fred has led the Muskies to 1 NABF Major Division World Series Title so far and has won over 500 games. Mort to come

Randy Miller - Player /Manager / Portland, IN Rockets 

Steve Imhoff - Player / Cincinnati, OH Redding Taxi / Montgomery Inn

Winfred Smith / Pine Bluff, Ark Braves / Player Manager

Class of 2010

Charlie Blackburn (NABF Executive Director)

Charlie has been at the helm of the National Amateur Baseball Federation for over 40 years.  Charlie was also a former player and founder or the Federal Semi-Pro Baseball League in Washingon, DC

Mike Leiderman-- Long Island, NY Storm (Manager)

Mike's Long Island Storm teams have been a powerhouse for many years the Storm have won both the AABC Stan Musial and the NABF MD titles over the years.

5. Al Oremus -- Chicago, IL. Prairie Gravel (Owner, Manager, Sponsor)

AL's Praire Gravel teams were dominant in the 90's and 2000's as they took home the NBC World Series Title in 2011 and also won a AABC Stan Musial Title more to come.

6. Ed Salmina --Novato, CA. Knicks (Owner, Manager and Sponsor)
Ed's Knicks have made several trips to the AABC Stan Musial World Series more to come

7. Joe Teuton--Houma, LA. Hogs (Owner, Manager, Sponsor)

Joe guided the Hogs to the USBC World Series Title in 2003 along the way the Hogs had 3 Runner-Up finishes at the USBC WS in 5 trips. The Hogs won over 500 games and were a powerhouse in the Gulf States Region winning many tournaments, 

8.  Charlie Anderson, Thomasville, AL Travelers  (GM)

The founder of the Travelers Charlie brought the Travelers on the National scene  in 1996 playing in the first of 9 USBC World Series. His Travelers took the 2002 USBC WS and along the way won 2 ASPBA World Series Titles in Hattiesburg, MS Charlie's Travelers continued the success of the Thomasville Ramblers from years past.

9.  Don Touchstone, Pensacola, FL Reds (Manager)

Don's Reds won the USBC World Series Title in 2000 taking the title on Alabama soil after Rain had forced the tournament to be finished in the south. Along the way the Reds played in 6 USBC World Series and made 1 trip to Wichita for the NBC WS. 

10.  Darren Lynam  Evansville, IN Outlaws, Jasper, IN Reds

Over Darren's 15 year career He amassed over 1,000 hits and stole 300 bases.  Darren played on 7 World Series Championship teams and total played in 24 total World Series making several USBC All World Series Tournament Teams as a short stop. 

11. Bill "Chief" Ingram Thomasville, AL Travelers / (Manager)

Chief's travelers won 3 World Series Titles 1 (USBC) and 2 (ASPBA) . Bill was the Heart and Soul of the Travelers Semi-Pro teams winning over 450 games in a 15 year span.

Class of 2009

Bob Arnold Canton, OH Stallions

Bob has been at the helm of the Stallions since 1998 guiding the Stallions to 3 National Titles 2 (AABC Stan Musial) and 1 (NABF Major Divison) along the way the Stallions who are 8 time AABC Regional Champions have been a mainstay at the AABC Stan Musial World Series. More to come.

Milton Barnes Hattiesburg, Mississippi Black Sox

Milton formed the Black Sox back in the early 40's and was a force in Semi-Pro Baseball in the South for 6 decades.

Jess Bolen Sr. Cape Girardeau,Mo Capahas

Jess has coached the Capahas since the early 70's. Jess's teams have won  over 1,450 games and have been crowned NBC Missouri State Champions and NBC Mid-South Regional Champions many times. Jess's teams have competed in the National Baseball Congress World Series for over 20 straight years and have had 5 top 10 finish'es. Together with his wife Mary They have kept the Capaha Tradition alive for a team who started in 1893.

Jim Corte Detroit, Michigan Jet Box

Jim who started the Jet Box team in 1969 still coaches today and has won over 1,492 games during that span. Jim's Jet Box teams have won 3 NABF Major Division World Series.

Roger Foutch Flint, Michigan Halo Burger Foutch Auto

Roger who still coaches the Flint Halo Burger Team has won 2 AABC Stan Musial World Series Titles along with a slew of Flint Summer League Titles winning 959 games along the way. More to Come

Phil Kliber - Long time Manager now GM of the Manistee, MI Saints founded in 1934. more to come.

Andy Maught -Brunswick, MD Orioles

Andy was the MVP of the 2004 NABF Major Division World Series. He was an outstanding hitter and played many positions with the Orioles. Sadly Andy lost his life in a car accident in 2008. His #8 was retired by the Orioles

Class of 2008

Jeff Hannah-Cincinnati, OH Chiefs

Jeff has been at the helm of the Cincinnati (Chiefs / Roosters) for over 27 years guiding the program to over 500 Wins and 3 NABF Major Division World Series Runs. Jeff has been a fixture in the Cincinnati Recreation Commission during its whole existence helping to develop it into one of the finer Semi-Pro Leagues in the country.

Ray Miller:Portland, IN Rockets

Ray coached the Portland Rockets since the early 1970's and his teams won over 900 Games in that time and were crowned Indiana AABC Stan Musual State Champs on a number of occasions. Ray recently passed away in January of 2007 but his spirit will live on.

Howie Minas: Midloathian,Ill White Sox
Howie coached the Midloathian, Ill White Sox for over 40 years in the South Chicago Area. Howie's teams won  2,650 ball games in that span including the 1992 National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita,Ks. Howie's teams placed 2nd 4 times in the prestigous tournament.

Vern Moehrs:Waterloo,Ill Buds Vern has coached the Buds since 1960 and has guided them to over 1,800 Wins in 53 years. Vern was recently became the first Illinois Citizen to be inducted into the Missouri Baseball Hall of Fame. Vern's Buds have won many Monclaire League Titles and post season Tournaments.

Dave Odman: Red Wing, Minn. Aces
Dave was a vital force in Red Wing, Minnesota both as a player and a coach. Dave spent 12 years as President of the Minnesota Baseball Association until his death recently. Dave was 58 when he passed but spent a lifetie promoting Semi-Pro Baseball in Minnesota.

Class of 2007

Bill Rickenbach: Mechanicsburg, Pa. Cardinals
Bill has coached the Cardinals since 1956 guiding them to over 2,600 wins during that time. During the 1974,75 season the Cardinals won 74 straight games an NSPBA (2 season record). More to come later!

Joe Sotolar:St.Louis,Mo Pointers
Joe coach the Pointers over 20 Years winning many NBC Missouri State Titles. Joe's Teams played in over 15 NBC World Series in Wichita. Joe coached Major Leaguer Bernard Gilkey at the Semi-Pro Level.

Bob Sullivan: Grand Rapids,MI. Sullivan's
Bob's Sullivan's out of Grand Rapids,Michigan have won 4 National Baseball Congress World Series Titles.

Tim Turpin: Evansville, IN Outlaws Semi-Pro Baseball Club

Tim  had the Outlaws for 18 years in that time span the Outlaws have won 9 National World Series Titles and over 700 games including 91 World Series Games. Tim was also a Player/ Coach of the Outlaws. In 2004 at age 36 Tim won the NABF National Batting Championship going 9 for 18 hitting .500 at the NABF Major Division World Series. Five former Outlaws made it to the Major Leagues.

Keith Gentry: Memphis, Tn Royals Kieth started the Royals in the early 80's Todate the Roylas have won over 1,000 games 3 AABC Tennessee State Titles 1 USBC World Series (1999) One Universal Baseball World Championship (1999) 1 USBC Regional Championship and many Memphis Amateur Baseball League Championships. Keith has sent over 25 players onto affiliated Major League Teams. Keith's 1999 Royals Team went 67 & 1 and won thier 1st 55 Games an NSPBA Record for consecutive Wins.

Cryril Aligar- Cryril has coached the Louisville, Ky Star Drywall "Stars" for over 30 years winning 4 NABF Major Division World Series Titles with 5 National Runner-Ups and numerous Derby City League Titles winning over 600 games in that time.

Class of 2006

Joe McComb: Ft. Wayne,In McComb Construction
Joe played and coached over 35 years and played his last game in 1996 at the age of 56.

Marty Watson:Indiana Outlaws
Marty played 13 seasons with the Outlaws setting National HR Records with 53 HR's in 1 year (2001) and 176 in a 4 year span (1998-2001) Marty also had 153 RBI's in 1 (70) game season in 2001. In his career Marty blasted 249 HR's (2nd all time)and was named the US Baseball Congress National Player of the year 4 times. Marty also hit 29 HR's in
Semi-Pro World Series play (NBC-1, NABF,4 SEWS,5 USBC-20) including 11 in the 1999 USBC World Series.

Jim Wahlig Waterloo, Illinois Buds

Jim hods the National Semi-Pro Home Run record with 272 Round Trippers. Jim's career with the Buds went 26 years before retiring in 2005. More to come

NASPBA Hall of Fame Sponsors

James G. Hoffman: Indiana,In Outlaws
Jim sponsored the Outlaws for 7 years through his many donations and volunteer efforts became a vital part of the Outlaws Baseball Family. Jim was also a charter sponsor of the United States Baseball Congress World Series. Jim recently passed away from a long bout with cancer. Jim's spirit will live on through the Outlaws and USBC World Series.

Tom Yawkey:Yawkey Baseball League Boston,Mass
Tom not only started the League that bears his name he's seen to it after his death fianacially that it still is supported today through trust funds he left behind.

Alvin C. Ruxer: Jasper, IN Reds Semi-Pro Baseball Club
Alvin played , coached and sponsored the Reds for many years. Alvin's business ventures stemmed from his Ruxer Ford Dealerships, Jasper Engines & Transmissions and Ruxer Horse Farms. The Reds have been in existance since 1893 through trust funds Mr. Ruxer left behind they still exist today. Jasper's Home Diamond "Alvin C. Ruxer Field" seats 4,000 and is home to high school tournaments and the Jasper Reds Semi-Pro Team.
