NSCRO National 7s Championship is Set

The NSCRO "Small College National 7s Championship" will take place on May 31-June 1 in conjunction with USA Sevens' Collegiate Rugby Championship (CRC) 7s at PPL Park near Philadelphia, PA.

The NSCRO 7s Commissioner is Howard Kent (info@denversevensrugby.com).

From April to early May, eight (8) qualifying tournaments (QT) were held throughout the country with 60 different NSCRO college teams participating.

The 8 small college teams that qualified are: Sonoma State University, University of Richmond, New England College, Susquehanna University, Lafayette College, Valdosta State University, New Mexico Highlands University and University of North Florida.

In the 2013 National 7s Championship, North Florida finished 2nd while New England College finished 3rd. The National Champion, Occidental College, lost to Sonoma State in the final of the University of Pacific 7s qualifier.

On Saturday, May 31, NSCRO's pool play round will take place at Neumann University in Aston, PA. There is no admission fee. Come on out and support small college rugby!

On June 1, the NSCRO semifinals and final will take place in PPL Park stadium. The final will be at 4:37pm just prior to the finals of the CRC 7s.
