Help Wanted!!!

If we were a building, we would have a sign up saying; Excuse our appearance as we remodel. For the past few seasons, we have been re-inventing ourselves to develop a better soccer player. We have seen great strides toward that end. The alignment of player ages into appropriate divisions, the start of the All Star Academy, the Suffolk Soccer Interleague are just a few of the changes made which required a tremendous amount of effort on all concerned. We have seen and received positive feedback from parents and referees on the skills of our players. We are developing better players in a very short period of time. As we continue to strengthen our club, your child will reap the benefits in the opportunities that will open, if pursuing a career in soccer is sought. If you or your child are not looking for a career in soccer, then they will just be better players and have much more rewarding and challenging games in the intramural program.

Additionally, as in the rest of the economy, we have been impacted with financial difficulties. In an effort to save money, we decided to have the club picnic at Stagecoach Elementary School. The turnout at the school has been better than most picnics at Smith Haven Park. Location seems to be key, however, obvious opportunities need to be sought in order to make the picnic a richer event. We will be pursuing these opportunities in the future picnics as we continue to have them at Stagecoach. Things to expect are: 1) tournaments within our club 2) interleague games such as the Community Cup Challenge along with some of our other divisions 3) better field layout 4) planned activities for all ages. These are just a few things and your input is highly needed. So, please contact us and make your suggestions. More importantly, please volunteer your time to help us continue strengthening our program. The benefits are immeasurable, if you could just provide us an hour of your time periodically or even help in one of the committees that will be set up on a temporary or permanent basis.

We are in need of people that can lend a hand to help make our club better. If you have an hour or two on a weekly basis then we can definitely use your assistance. You will be considered a friend of the club and can assist in one-off tasks or join a committee. Committee members currently sought after with more to come are: 3v3 Tournament, Fundraising, Club Picnic, Opening Day.

Being a friend of the club or a member of a committee does not involve you in the Board of Directors or the Executive Board. It is strictly a volunteer part time position.
