Reminder to Coaches - Northern Region Out of Season Policy
As coaches begin to prepare for the 2008 HS Season, your NRVCA Board would like to remind all coaches of the applicable VHSL & Northern Region rules that apply.
1.) Weight training and conditioning programs, run by your coaching staff, are completely acceptable, as long as they are made available to all students at your school.
2.) Intramurals/open gyms can only be conducted during the school year.
3.) Coaches may particpate in one team camp with their athletes, provided that the camp:
a.) offers individual instruction where the coach interacts with other students as well as their students
b.) is comprised of more multiple school teams - four or more
4.) Coaches may not be involved in any camp/clinic during the week immediately preceding their season.
** For Northern Region schools, this means the week of July 27 to August 2nd is considered "off limits" for coaches to attend a camp/clinic with their team (as tryouts begin the week of August 3rd - August 5th for most schools)
