After beating the Cubs for the first time on Sunday the Dodgers beat the Braves for the first time on Wednesday with a 7-5 win. Zack started for the Dodgers on the mound pitching a scoreless 1st and 2nd innings. The Dodgers again started with a hot 1st inning scoring three runs. Austin and Jason led off with singles. Roman doubled up the middle. Spencer singled and Zack doubled to highlight the offensive attack. Nick and Jake walked and David was hit by a pitch in the 2nd inning, but the Dodgers were left scoreless and the 2nd inning ended with a 3-0 lead for the Dodgers. The Braves battled back in the 3rd inning to tie the score, but the Dodgers put up 3 runs of their own to jump to a 6-3 lead. Jason singled. Roman walked. Charlie singled. And then Spencer singled to score Roman and Charlie. Roman, who relieved Zack in the 3rd inning, pitched a scoreless 4th inning striking out one and getting help on groundouts to Charlie at shortstop and Luke at second base. The Dodgers added another run for a 7-3 lead in the bottom of the 4th inning. Nick did the largest damage with a triple to the fence in right-center. Nick later scored on a single up the middle by Jake. Roman came on to pitch a 1-2-3 5th inning with two strikeouts. Daniel singled in the bottom of the 5th inning, but was left stranded on base. The Braves put up two runs in the 6th inning to tighten the game to 7-5. Charlie closed the game down for the Dodgers preserving the win with a strikeout. The Dodgers are now 9-7 on the season with regular season games remaining against the Giants and Reds before playoffs begin.
Friday, May 6
The Dodgers recorded their biggest win of the season with a 9-7 victory over the previously undefeated Cubs to run their record to 8-7 on the season. The Dodgers and Cubs came out of the gates fast matching 3-run 1st innings. Austin, Roman and Charlie scored in the inning for the Dodgers. Spencer doubled and Zack singled to provide the offensive punch. The Dodgers threatened in the 2nd inning, but were turned away scoreless. Luke and Nick led with singles and Jake reached on an error in the inning. Austin settled down for the Dodgers in the 2nd inning recording a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts. The Dodgers then broke things open in the 3rd inning with a 5-run inning taking advantage of some errors by the Cubs. Austin and Jason reached on errors. Roman doubled. Then Charlie and Zack reached on errors as well. Spencer scored on a passed ball for the 5th run. Roman pitched the last three innings for the Dodgers yielding two runs in the 4th inning but pitching scoreless 5th and 6th innings. The Dodges were held scoreless in the 4th and 5th innings despite a walk by Nick and a single by Daniel. The Dodgers added an insurance run in the 6th inning to take the 9-7 lead. Roman, Charlie and Spencer singled consecutively with one out to do the damage.

The Dodgers just weren’t clicking and the Cubs were firing on all cylinders Sunday afternoon recording a 12-5 win to take three in a row over the Dodgers in the season series. The Dodgers did have some offensive highlights, but they were unable to string together a rally until late in the game. Jake was hit by a pitch. Drew walked in the game. David was 1 for 2 with a single. Nick singled and walked. Luke was 2 for 3 with two singles. Zack walked and singled. Danny was 2 for 2 and hit by a pitch. Spencer walked twice and scored once. Charlie singled. Roman was 2 for 2 with two singles and a walk. Jason singled and walked. Roman, Charlie and Zack did pitching duties for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers used a dominant offense and great pitching from Jason, Nick, Jake and Charlie to secure a 15-4 victory over the Reds and move to 7-5 on the season. The Dodgers jumped on the Reds early taking a 1st inning 5-0 lead. Roman started the rally with a walk, Charlie followed with a powerful double and Spencer launched a line drive smash over the right fielder’s head for a triple scoring Roman and Charlie. Austin singled home Spencer. Zack walked and Danny hit a double in the gap to score Austin and Spencer for the 5th run of the inning.
Jason was strong throughout for the Dodgers pitching 4 innings and yielding only one run. Jason struck out three and only walked one batter in an efficient outing. Luke walked and Daniel singled in the 2nd inning, but the Reds held the Dodgers scoreless. With a 5-1 score, the Dodgers added four more runs in the 3rd inning. David triggered the rally by leading off with a walk. Jason and Roman followed with consecutive singles and Charlie doubled to the fence and later scored on a Spencer ground ball to give the Dodgers a 9-1 lead. The Dodgers added another run in the 4th inning. Danny led off the inning with a single. Luke walked. Daniel later grounded out to 3rd base driving home Danny for an RBI. The Dodgers really put the game out of reach in the 5th inning with five more runs. David led off with a single. Jason singled. Roman and Charlie walked. Austin singled. Zack doubled and Danny tripled to clear the bases and make it 15-1 Dodgers. The Reds fought back in the 5th inning scoring three runs. Nick and Jake combined for the three outs in the inning. The Dodgers threated again in the 6th inning with a single by Nick and a walk by Daniel, but the Reds held tough. Charlie came on in the 6th inning holding the Reds scoreless while striking out one.
The Dodgers take on the always tough Braves on Wednesday.

|Roman delivers for Dodgers|
The Giants jumped to an early lead, but the Dodgers fought back in the middle innings putting up five runs in the 3rd and 5th innings to cruise to a 16-8 victory. Roman highlighted the offensive attack with the Dodgers first homerun of the season – a 3-run homer in the 4th inning over the left-center fence. Roman was 3 for 3 in the game adding a single, triple and walk. Jason scored twice on a single and walk. Charlie added a double and walk. Spencer singled and scored. Zack scored three times, walking twice. Luke singled and walked. Nick tripled, singled and walked. David was hit by a pitch, scored and put down a beautiful bunt and Drew walked twice and scored. Roman and Zack combined from the mound to hold the Giants to eight runs.

|Charlie base hit fuels Dodgers rally|
The Dodgers played their most complete game with a 23-3 win over the Mets. Jason and Charlie combined to yield only three runs in six innings. Jason struck out six in three innings. Charlie struck out four in two innings. Each pitcher was efficient only walking one batter. The Dodgers were red hot at the plate with each player scoring at least once. Daniel was 1 for 2 with two runs scored, David was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Drew walked three times with three runs, Nick was 1 for 3 with a triple, Luke was 3 for 5, Spencer was 4 for 5, Jason was 2 for 3 with two walks and two runs scored, Charlie was 2 for 4 with a double and single, Roman was 4 for 4 with a triple, three doubles and three runs scored and Zack was 1 for 2 with a double, three walks and three runs scored. It was by far the best offensive game for the Dodgers.

|Danny steps in for Dodgers|
The Dodgers and Braves engaged in a tight pitching duel with the Braves prevailing 3-0 in a tightly contested game. The Dodgers consistently put the ball in play, striking out only twice, but the Braves played some terrific defense as the ball seemed to constantly drop into their gloves for outs. Austin pitched a gutty 3 2/3 holding the tough Braves offense to three runs. Roman came on for the final 2 1/3 holding the Braves scoreless and recording two strikeouts. Offensive highlights for the Dodgers were minimal. Danny was hit by a pitch in the 2nd inning but held scoreless. David and Drew singled in the 3rd inning but David was forced out at second base. Jason doubled to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs but a Roman line drive to centerfield was caught to end the rally. Charlie reached base and Zack walked in the 4th inning, but the Dodgers were held scoreless again. Jason singled again the 6th inning, but the Braves held tough and came away with the 3-0 win after a Danny long drive to centerfield found another Brave glove for the last out of the inning.

The Braves took it to the Dodgers winning 13-2 and snapping the Dodgers 3-game winning streak. The Dodgers started strong taking a 2-1 lead after one inning, but the Braves kept scoring and the Dodgers offense went silent. Jason started the rally in the first inning with a single. Roman walked. Danny reached on an error. Zack walked. Offensive highlights after the first inning were few and far between. Nick walked twice in the game. Daniel walked. Luke tripled over the right fielder’s head in the 4th inning. Zack walked twice in the game. Charlie singled in the 3rd inning. Roman took a pitch off the helmet in the 5th inning. Roman, Jason, Zack and Charlie did pitching duties for the Dodgers.

|Luke runs home for Dodgers|
The Dodgers recorded a 16-5 victory over the Reds in the first matchup between the two teams. The Dodgers struck early taking a 4-0 first inning lead and building it to 12-0 after three innings. Austin, Charlie, Zack and Jason combined from the mound to hold the Reds to only five runs through six innings. The Dodgers got offensive contributions up and down the lineup. Jason was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Roman was 3 for 3 with a walk and four runs scored, Charlie singled and scored, Danny singled, walked and scored once. Zack had two singles, a walk and a run scored, Austin walked and scored, Luke was 2 for 2 with a walk and one run scored, Drew singled and scored, David singled and Nick walked and scored twice. It was a well-rounded effort for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers made it two in a row against the Mets with a 14-11 victory on Friday evening. The win moved the Dodgers to 3-2 on the season. The Dodgers were en fuego in the 1st inning putting up a quick five runs. With one out, Roman singled, Spencer walked, Danny doubled and Zack, Austin and Luke all singled to lead the rally. The Mets battled back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to pull to within 5-3. Jason, Luke and Zack did the job from the mound for the Dodgers against the powerful Giants lineup. Charlie tripled in the 2nd inning and David and Drew walked but the Mets defense held strong and the Dodgers failed to score. The Mets tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning as Luke came in to relieve Jason on the mound. The Dodgers built an 8-5 lead with three runs in the 3rd inning. Nick led the inning with a walk and Roman singled. Spencer was then hit by a pitch in the face and forced to leave the game for x-rays. Happy to report he has healed well and is expected to return from the DL in early May. Danny, Austin and Zack then followed with walks and Luke singled to stake the Dodgers to the 4-run lead. Zack pitched a scoreless 3rd inning with the help of two put outs from Charlie at 3rd base and a strikeout. The Dodgers didn’t rest in the 4th inning scoring five more runs for a commanding 13-5 lead. Charlie opened the inning with a single, Jake was hit by a pitch, David moved them over with a grounder to second, Drew had a hard hit single to right-center and Nick walked. Jason and Roman then followed with back-to-back doubles to end the inning at the 5-run limit. The Mets put up two runs in the 4th inning and four runs in the 5th inning as they continued to battle back into the game. The Dodgers added one run in the 5th inning. Zack led with a walk. Austin and Luke both singled.
Sunday, March 13
|Jake down and ready for Dodgers|
The Dodgers evened their record at 2-2 with a 11-4 win over the Mets on Sunday. The Mets struck first with two runs, but the Dodgers answered back and then some with a 5-run inning to take a 5-2 1st running lead. Jason and Roman led with walks and later scored. Spencer doubled and scored. Zack and Daniel both walked to keep the inning going. Charlie then singled and Jake and David capped the inning with back-to-back walks. Zack kept the Mets off the scoreboard in the 2nd inning producing a pop-up to Jason and a groundball out to Jake at second base. The 3rd out came when Roman picked off a Mets’ runner at 1st base by throwing to Danny, who made the tag. The Dodgers kept the offense going in the 2nd inning with another four runs to take a commanding 9-2 lead. Drew triggered the rally with a leadoff single. Nick walked. Jason and Roman singled. Danny singled, Zack walked and Luke singled. Drew, Nick, Jason and Roman all scored in the inning. Zack and Charlie combined to hold the Mets to two runs in the 3rd inning. Charlie led off the 3rd inning with his second single of the game and David was later hit by a pitch, but the Mets held strong to keep it at 9-3. Charlie pitched an effective inning for the Dodgers in the 4th inning holding the Mets scoreless. Jason made the highlight play by retrieving a passed ball and hustling home to tag the Mets’ runner for the 3rd out of the inning. Jason and Roman singled to open up the 4th inning. Jason would later score to push the lead to 10-4. Roman pitched the 5th and 6th innings for the Dodgers, holding the Mets scoreless and striking out four. The Dodgers tacked on one more run in the bottom of the 5th inning. Zack led with a walk, Daniel later walked and then Charlie singled to score Zack and make it 11-4.
The Dodgers next play Friday in a rematch with the Mets.

|Nick at 3rd after triple|
The Dodgers and Cubs dueled again with the Cubs pulling out a 5-3 win when the game was ended due to darkness in the bottom of the 6th inning. The Dodgers and Cubs matched each other with three runs in the first inning before settling into a pitching and defensive duel for the remainder of the game. Jason pitched an effective first two innings for the Dodgers, limiting the vaunted Cub’s offense to three runs in two innings. Jason struck out three batters. Facing an early 3-0 deficit, the Dodgers bounced back to tie the score, behind a leadoff run by Jason, a double and run scored by Roman, a hit by Danny and a triple by Luke. Roman entered the game in the 3rd inning and held the Cubs to two runs in four innings, striking out six. Nick tripled in the 3rd inning, but the Dodgers couldn’t get any runs across. Roman singled in the 4th inning, but the Dodgers were again turned away when Roman was thrown out at home for the 3rd out. In the 5th inning, Spencer led with a walk and Jake later singled but both were left stranded on base. The Dodgers attempted a comeback in the 6th inning trailing 5-3. With one out, David reached base and scored on a Jason single to pull within 5-4. The game was then called for darkness and the Dodgers were forced to settle for a hard fought 5-3 loss and 1-2 record. The Dodgers next take on the Mets Sunday at noon.

The Dodgers got off to a fine start using a balanced offensive attack, strong pitching and a mostly reliable defense to record a 13-4 win over the Giants in the season opener. Jason, Zack and Luke handled pitching duties throwing an efficient five innings of baseball.
The Dodgers got some good highlight defensive plays from Charlie who made a nice catch in centerfield and some good plays at 3rd base. Roman and Jason did a solid job behind the plate at catcher. Andrew and Spencer made the plays at 2nd base. Danny played a good 1st base.
On offense, the Dodgers got contributions up-and-down the lineup. David made some solid contact and had an RBI, Andrew scored a run and had an RBI, Nick scored and walked twice, Daniel had two singles and one run, Jake had a single and run scored, Charlie scored twice with a double and single, Luke scored and walked, Spencer tripled and scored, Danny was 3-for-3 with a double and two singles, Roman had a single and run scored, Jason singled twice and Zack doubled, walked and scored.
Luke closed the game for the Dodgers ending the game with a strikeout to put the Dodgers at 1-0 on the season. The Dodgers play the Cubs on Sunday at 3:00.
Monday, March 7
|Jason stealing 2nd base|
The Dodgers dropped their first game of the season 7-5 in a well-played contest versus the Cubs. The Dodgers took an early 4-0 lead and maintained the lead for much of the game, but the Cubs put up five runs in the 5th inning to take a 7-4 lead. The Dodgers battled back for one run in the 6th inning, but fell a little short going 1-1 on the season.
The Dodgers took the early 4-run lead on a Jason single, Zack walk, and then consecutive singles by Roman, Danny, Spencer, Luke and Charlie. Roman pitched a strong first three innings for the Dodgers limiting the Cubs to one run and striking out four. The Dodgers got a walk from Drew in the 2nd inning but failed to score. Roman took a pitch off the helmet in the 3rd inning but was left stranded on base. Spencer walked in the 4th inning but again the Cubs kept the Dodgers off the scoreboard. Daniel, Drew and David walked in the 5th inning but the Cubs made a nice catch on a line drive by Jason to end the rally. Roman singled and scored and Danny singled to attempt a rally in the 6th inning, but the Cubs hung tough again.
The Dodgers get another shot at the Cubs on Wednesday.
