North River American Little League: 2008 Spring Season Divisions
Little League Tee Ball is a program developed primarily for younger players and those just learning the fundamentals. Rather than using the pitched ball, Tee Ball utilizes an adjustable batting stand or "tee" from which the ball is hit.
Tee Ball is for children of league ages 5, 6, 7 and/or 8.
AA (machine pitch)
The AA Division is designed for children who have played at least one full season of Tee Ball and have a basic understanding of the fundamentals. A pitching machine, operated by the team coaches, is used to pitch to batters.
This division is for children of league age 6-9.
Minors
The Minor division is for players who understand the fundamentals. Players pitch to batters from the pitching mound.
Eligible players are selected by the division's managers and coaches for regional All-Star tournament competition at the end of the spring season.
This division is for children of league age 9-10.
Majors
The Majors division is for players who understand the fundamentals. Players pitch to batters from the pitcher's mound.
When there are not enough teams to play a full schedule within the league, the Majors division will play teams from other leagues within our district.
Eligible players are selected by the division's managers and coaches for regional All-Star tournament competition at the end of the spring season.
It is this division that produces a tournament team for the Little League World Series at the end of the playoff season in baseball.
This division is for children of league age 11-12.
Junior/Senior
The Junior/Senior division provides a continuing framework for players coming out of the Little League Majors Divion.
When there are not enough teams to play a full schedule within the league, this division will play teams from other leagues within our district.
This division is for children of playing ages 13-16.
Minors Softball
This division is for girls age 7-10
Majors Softball
This division is for girl's age 10-12
