An open letter to the members of NRLL
The 2008 edition of North Reading Little League is starting to wind down. Fall League registration is just about complete and plans are already being made for the seasons of 2009. We have a lot to build on from this past season. All age divisions saw some very competitive baseball being played. This was especially true this year in the Major League where two losses separated the first place team from the seventh place team. Our summer Williamsport and Tournament teams also had great success this summer in their respective leagues.
There have been some noticeable changes at the Little League complex. Construction has started on the restroom project and is proceeding on schedule. We should have the structure completed this fall with the restrooms being fully operational sometime next year. There have also been improvements made in the parking area so those who need to drop their children off will be able to do so without having to back up through the parking area.
Registration will soon be open on line for the spring 2009 season. The cost will be $155 for the first child and $130 for each additional child. This is the first increase in our spring rate in three years. Included in this fee is the Parks and Rec user fee of $45 per player which was just recently increased. Something NRLL will add for this coming year will be an Auxiliary Committee. We will be asking for volunteers from the Little League community to help with fundraising and other planned events throughout the year.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this past season a success. With your continued help 2009 will prove to be another great year for NRLL.
