Age/Date Change
As most people now know, Babe Ruth Baseball and Little League International have both changed the cut-off date for the players age and what division they will play in for the upcoming year. The 2005 board of North Newark Little League decided to change the cut-off date from August 31st to May 1st with no exceptions. For example, if you turn 9 years old on April 25th you will be required to play in our farm divison (9 & 10 year olds, live pitch). If you turn 9 years old on May 4th you will be required to play in our minor division (7 & 8 year olds, machine pitch). The 2006 board has agreed with the decision of the 2005 board and will not change this decision or make any exceptions. Please feel free to call any current board member to discuss. We feel this is in the best interest of our league as a whole and did not consider any individual situation in making our decisions. We look forward to another great year at one of the best little league programs in central Ohio.
