New City and NLYBS to Build New Sports Pavilion at Penn Meadows Park: The City of North Liberty has committed to building a sports pavilion at Penn Meadows Park that will include 2 seven person bathrooms and a concession stand. The City asked NLYBS to contribute $250,000. NLYBS has saved $50,000 and Scheels All Sports has committed to $25,000 over 5 years.

Funds raised by NLYBS through grants and donations will count towards the remaining $175,000. NLYBS is going to sell bricks as a fundraiser and use the bricks to build a Commemorative Baseball Diamond Courtyard beside the new pavilion. It should be a nice place to enjoy treats from the new concession stand.

The new splash pad and tot playground will also be added to the playground so having enough convenient bathrooms will be more important than ever. Bricks can be purchased on the NLYBS website. If you know of any businesses or organizations that might be interested in contributing, please send them to the website or have them email the registrar.

New Partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance:
As part of a targeted effort to provide the most positive experience for its players, NLYBS has established a partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). PCA, a Stanford University-based non-profit organization, works with coaches, organizational leaders and parents to more effectively teach young athletes about teamwork, discipline, respect and goal-setting through their sports experience. Additional information COMING and can be found on the NLYBS website and Facebook page. Information will also be shared throughout the season with coaches, parents, and players.
