WELCOME to the NJSBUA Baseball / Softball High School Officials web site!

The NJSBUA was founded in 1936 and is now 79 Years Old. Our association consists of a dedicated group of men and women officials who are committed to the improvement of Baseball and Softball umpires in the Essex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex and Union County conferences we serve.
The NJSBUA is over 500 members strong, we are actively recruiting interested new men and women to increase both our ranks and ability to serve the schools and programs in our area.

Message from the President

To All Members,

Now that the Holidays are behind us (I hope everyone made the most of them), we are a few short weeks away from the report date for pitchers and catchers. Having just returned from a trip to California and watching the USC and UCLA teams work out, the excitement is starting to build as OUR time is fast approaching.

I want to remind everyone that it is a REQUIREMENT to attend one of the STATE SANCTIONED MEETING TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK STATE TOURNAMENT GAMES. Failure to do so will disqualify a member from State Tournament consideration by the selection committee in Robbinsville.

Regardless of the level you work everyone needs to sharpen their skills. You can be sure the student-athletes are hard at work as many are involved in individual instruction while others are already holding CAPTAIN’S practices in the gyms.

Before you know it the sound of Play Ball will echo in the air. Will we be ready to give OUR best effort when the bell rings? Let us all work together to make 2015 the finest year in the history of the NJBSUA.

Kevin Downes, President
