ASAP REACHED 100%
Again for the second year District 13 New Jersey has reached 100% by March 31, 2009. This is a great milestone for the district to reach. This will allow league to see were the safety issues are at thier complex and improve from year to year as we make each day safer for the players. Again from the District 13 Staff thank you League Preidents and Safety Officer for a job well worth a good night sleep.
LITTLE LEAGUE BAT RULE FOR 2009
It has been brought to the attention of Little League officials that there are a few bats for sale in stores or that may have already been purchased that carry the Little League approval, but do not have the required bat performance standard markings. The Little League Rulebook states that beginning January 1, 2009, all non-wood bats used for play in Little League Baseball (majors and below) shall be printed with a bat performance factor (BPF) of 1.15 or less. While the bats we have identified pass the BPF standard and other standards of proportion and measurement, they do not have the proper label. These bats are in the marketplace for a variety of circumstances. After review by Little League officials, it has been determined that these bats may remain in the marketplace and shall be allowed for play during the 2009 season only, with the understanding that these bats shall not be allowed for play after December 31, 2009, even though some improperly labeled bats may still remain in the marketplace, or retained by leagues and players after the 2010 deadline. Also, check the model you are purchasing. If these bats, like the Vanquish, are replaced with corrected labeling, and have the BPF 1.15 label, they will be allowed after 2009.

MID-ATLANTIC CHALLENGER JAMBOREE
Local Little League administrators, parents and special needs children will gather in Ewing, N.J., on June 6-7, 2009, to participate in the Mid-Atlantic Challenger Jamboree. This Little League event is one of several to be hosted in the coming months by Little League Baseball and Softball at various locations across the country. The Challenger Division, which was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League Baseball and Softball, enables boys and girls with physical and mental disabilities, ages 5-18 or the completion of high school, to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide. The Jamboree is aimed at sharing Little League's services and educational materials with local leagues chartering Challenger Division teams, while giving the Little Leaguers the opportunity to play games. Local Little League volunteers will be coordinating the event. There are nearly 1,800 teams and more than 26,000 players in Little League's Challenger Division. Chartered Little Leagues can host their own Challenger team or teams. A district-wide program also is a possibility. In this structure, networking among leagues is greatly improved as players and teams throughout a district come together for games. More information on the Mid-Atlantic Region Challenger Jamboree can be found by contacting Ron Tola, at: (609) 587-6808; or by email at: rtola@haverford.edu.
