Cabell-Midland came out strong on Tuesday night against the Nitro Wildcats (0-2-0) with a 4-1 victory in Barboursville.  The Pirates scored first in the 11th minute as a squibber got past the Nitro backfield.  The Wildcats answered back with under ten minutes to go in the first half.  Forward Ali Scarbro received a quick pass from Emily Ross in the penalty area on the right side and made a hard shot that flew into the left side of the net from fifteen yards away.  Cabell-Midland regained their composure and controlled the pace of play in the second half getting nine shots on goal compared to Nitro's three.  Cabell-Midland scored off a corner kick in the 52nd minute when the ball was headed into the net.  The Pirates scored twice later in the half as Nitro was called for two tripping fouls that resulted in penalty kicks.  Cabell-Midland finished with seventeen shots on goal versus eight for Nitro.  Nitro keeper Mallory Scarbro had five saves.  The Lady Wildcats return to action against the Winfield Generals on Thursday night at Underwood Field in Nitro.
