The New Hampshire Diamond Gems are establishing a U23 summer softball program beginning the summer of 2010.  The goal of this program is to provide an environment for the college aged athlete to maintain or refine their skills in a competitive environment in preparation for their fall college season. The Diamond Gems program is renowned as one of the top girl’s fastpitch softball programs in the area.  Many of the girls who play in this program have done so for multiple seasons.  The 23U program is no exception as it is anticipated that as many as six girls graduating from the very successful 2009 NH ASA State Champion 18U program may be part of the inaugural 23U season.  

Emphasis will be placed on providing each player with the opportunity to improve and hone their skills through the repetition of drills in practice and participation in actual game situations.  As many high school athletes move to the collegiate ranks, they find themselves needing to learn a new position in order to gain playing time.  This program will also provide athletes in that situation with the coaching and real time game opportunity to learn a new position. 

 Winning in the 23U program is important, but will be viewed as a by-product of the hard work that will be expected of the girls during the season. We anticipate practicing at least once a week and playing between 4 and 6 local tournaments during the summer season. If you are interested in becoming part of this program please send me an e-mail at the address below.
