Welcome to the Web Site of the New Hampshire Diamond Gems 18U "A" Fastpitch Team based in Nashua, and Merrimack, New Hampshire. As happens at this time every year, this web site is currently undergoing "reconstruction".

The Diamond Gems 18U team is a competitive Junior Olympic fast pitch softball team which competes on the state, regional, and national levels. Our players come from throughout Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts, and include young women of both high school and college age. During the "off season" from October through April, the girls work hard, participating in various school sports, as well as conditioning and fitness programs, and practicing indoors. We are very proud that many of the girls are among the academic standouts in their respective schools.

The 2009 team features 8 players returning from the very successful 2008 team, 3 girls moving up from our 2008 16U team, and 3 girls who are new to us. All of the girls bring talent, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn, and to play hard, to each practice and every game.

During the summer of 2009, our "win / loss" record will be important, but the focus of our year will be for the girls to learn, to be "showcased", and most of all, to have fun. We won’t win every game, but we should “be in” them all. It is Coach Rines’ hope that when our games end, our opponents, the umpires, and the fans will all agree that our young ladies did their best, showed respect, and brought honor to themselves, and their organization.

While the Gems' "mission" is for the girls to have fun and learn to play the game to the best of their abilities, we're not adverse to winning. And the 2008 team was the most successful in the history of the program, posting a 21-13-1 record, and winning the "Battle at Burnham" and "Summer Sizzler" tournaments, and earning a bid to the "2009 NSA Nationals".

Team members and their parents should check the "news" section frequently, as this is the area where changes in / additions to schedules, practices, and clinics, etc. will be noted / recorded.

Thanks for stopping by our site! If you have the time, please take a moment to sign our guest book and let us know how we are doing. Any suggestions on how we can improve would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the visit, and have a safe and successful 2009 season!
