NF Senior Alumni Hockey League (Sunday Night) 2015 - 2016

Welcome to the twenty-sixth season of Sunday night hockey. Play in our eight-team league begins on September 27, 2015. We will continue to use both rinks at Hyde Park, with early games beginning at 6:45 or 7:00 and the late games at 8:15 or 8:30. If you are a new applicant to our league or you filled in for another player last season, it is possible that you may not be included in this year’s draft. That is because players who were injured, or took a leave of absence, have priority. We will not know how many openings we have until the August 21st deadline. Chances are very good that all who played in the league at the end of the season will be included in the draft.

All players are expected to attend at LEAST 75% of the games. We try to keep the league balanced and when players miss games it affects the balance.

New Applicants: If you are not drafted and you sent in a $25 deposit, your name will be placed on our waiting list until an opening occurs. Most of the people on last year’s waiting list were called to fill in for players who either were injured or had to leave the league.

The season format will be the same this season with the usual five game playoffsystem as in the past.  Three of our regular season games will be played on Friday nights so check your schedule carefully.  The schedule is not complete as we are still waiting to hear from the management at Hyde Park. Start of the season has been delayed due to construction at the rink

As usual, the league and playoff games were very competitive. Congratulations to last season’s league and playoff champion - Bruins.

Honey’s Pizza, on Niagara Falls Boulevard and the entrance to the 190, will again sponsor the league. We ask you to support Honey’s by joining in on the weekly post-game social.

Important Reminder: You must have a clear shield or cage on your helmet to participate.

Also of Note: Rink construction this past summer have included new pads for the ice surface and also new boards and glass. The delay has come from the concrete pads needing additional time to cure properly.

Game Scores and Individual Stats

Game results and Individual Stats will be updated as soon as possible after I get the scoresheets. The stats are taken off of the score sheets and tabulated from them. Captains please help the referees with the scoring as they often times miss giving full credit on a scoring play. This will greatly help scoring stat accuracy.

Also, Team captains make sure that if there are any changes to who is wearing a jersey number that the scorekeeper is told about the change. Also if you replace an injured player please let me know the new players name and the jersey number. Thanks
