Welcome to the twenty-third season of Sunday night hockey. Play in our eight-team league begins on September 16, 2012. We will continue to use both rinks at Hyde Park, with early games beginning at 6:45 or 7:00 and the late games at 8:15 or 8:30. If you are a new applicant to our league or you filled in for another player last season, it is possible that you may not be included in this year’s draft. That is because players who were injured, or took a leave of absence, have priority. We will not know how many openings we have until the August 17th deadline. Chances are very good that all who played in the league at the end of the season will be included in the draft.

 All players are expected to attend at LEAST 75% of the games. We try to keep the league balanced and when players miss games it affects the balance.

New Applicants: If you are not drafted and you sent in a $25 deposit, your name will be placed on our waiting list until an opening occurs. Most of the people on last year’s waiting list were called to fill in for players who either were injured or had to leave the league.

This season we will play a total of 27 games, 22 regular season, and 5 playoff games. The season begins Sept. 16th and ends with the championship game and banquet on Monday, March 18th. Three of our regular season games will be played on Friday nights so check your schedule carefully. No games will be played on Super Bowl Sunday.

As usual, the league and playoff games were very competitive. Congratulations to last season’s playoff champion - Kings, and the league champion - Sabres.

Honey’s Pizza, on Niagara Falls Boulevard and the entrance to the 190, will again sponsor the league. We ask you to support Honey’s by joining in on the weekly post-game social.

Important Reminder: You must have a clear shield or cage on your helmet to participate.

The game scores and statistics for the games are now being emailed to me a couple of days after the games are played so that they will be updated on the site sooner than before. 

To make sure that the correct players are credited with goals and assists. Team captains make sure that if there are any changes to who is wearing a jersey number that the scorekeeper is told about the change. Also if you replace an injured player please let me know the new players name the jersey number.
